Uplifted

Warning: Delicate subject matter may not be suitable for men OR the sensitive reader

Well, my spirits were most definitely lifted at Women's Conference, but recently, so was something else. I took a little trip to Nordy's for a long overdue bra fitting. And it was a most excellent trip, indeed. The feelings I experienced after being fitted and then finding the perfect bra can only be compared to those I felt after meeting Tom. Or the moment I found my engagement ring (darn straight I picked it!). They were each moments when I fell in love. And so it is with finding the perfect bra...instant love!

But the fitting didn't stop there, nor did the love. This time I was also on a quest to find the perfect sports bra. I've had several recommendations for a "great" sports bra, but have had NO luck. Well at Nordstrom, my dears, they carry the perfect sports bra for the full figured woman. Made by a Ms. Donna Karen. In this bra, there is really not much space for wiggle room, if you know what I mean. I'm not much of a runner, but I used to do a fair amount back in college (really, who wasn't a runner at BYU?). And it might sound lame, but my main reason for hating running is because I have had no support. Until now. Instant love again! (for the bra, not running)

Reese struggling to find the perfect fit.
(She was in the fitting room with me and I turned around to see this! The picture was much more hilarious before I cropped and distorted it to make it more internet appropriate.)

And I can't possibly end a bra post without referring you back to Rachel's Bra Fitting Tips.

I'll try not to post every single time I buy a new bra, but I still feel that my mission to get every woman in the right fitting bra is not complete. I'm just trying to make the world a better place 1 bra at a time. (I wanted to say something else there, but it didn't quite make it past my editor.) I hope finding your perfect bra will bring you as much joy and happiness as it has for me. Until next time.

I love it!!!! I am in desperate need of another, less R-rated, bra fitting at Nordy's myself :D.

Thanks for reminding me to add one more thing to my list of must do some time this year. :-)

As a small-framed but well-endowed woman myself...I love bra shopping at Nordstrom's! I'm not really a Nordstrom kind of girl, but it is the only place I will go for bras. And I am a very avid runner and have always struggled to find a good supporting bra as well. I finally discovered the Enell sports bra (they are sold online and it was featured on Oprah). They are amazing! Everything stays firmly in place. :)
Obviously I feel strongly about this topic as well so I had to comment. :)

So funny! I happened to be doing something very similar recently, but am hesitant to spend too much $$$$ on a REALLY good shelf for the "girls"...since that last time I had a baby the ladies reveled and took a fast trip towards "guzongas"....oh well --- looking forward to a mommy lift someday:-)You need to tell me what you ended up with...let's talk...girls to girls;-)

Haha, funny title. I expected a synopsis from Women's Conference you clever one.
I too need a good fitting sports bra, and to be done with these nursing bras as they are not giving me the uplift I need. Thanks for the tip on Nordstrom. I'll have to check it out once Brooke is one her own.

I saw the title, and I was thinking that maybe you posted about your trip to Women's Conference. I was a little shocked to expect that and start reading this. But I love it. I'm glad you have the support you need.

Why is it a nice bra is one of the best purchases ever?

And I know the grass is always greener, but I've wished that, just for a few days, I'd have the problem of being unable to contain the goods in a sports bra.

Andy's words were, "Awesome! Is that one bra?" I guess my bras are much, much smaller that he thinks if it's bigger then there must be multiple.

Also, I read your post about the nest. Watch out for when those eggs hatch. We had a bird's nest with eggs fixed to the light outside our door a few years back. That mama bird protected those babies with her life. I know there were more of us and we're bigger, but we RAN into our house to avoid getting pecked at!

Excellent Post! Oh how much better would the world be if everyone wore the right size bra?

On your last post I had to look at the tree picture twice. I can't believe how much it's grown. I love your bra tips. I need to email you our flight plans to Denver. I hope that we can see you. It will be nice to see our old friends again. Love you guys!

I also just got fitted for a bra. I finally feel like a grownup with a bra that actually fits right.

Going to go to Intimacy on Madison this week. I can hardly wait. I need a new one so bad. Just wish I had "the Koch girls" here to shop with me.

I always LOVE your bra posts. So relevant. Could you please go on a search for the perfect swimsuit with support now? (And sadly I never did find the perfect nursing bra either. . .)
