And the Winner Is....

Yay!!! Congratulations!!! Winners send your addresses to me at rachelbjorkman@hotmail.com.

Thank you everybody for being so much fun and participating! If I were rich I would send everybody something. But I'm not. I think I'll have to have more chocolate give-aways though so I can feel like I have lots of friends again. :)

FINAL COUNTDOWN

I've decided to move the deadline for the Chocolate Give-away (see below) up to 9:00 TONIGHT (MST) instead of midnight. That way I can do the actual drawing tonight. Besides, if you haven't been to my blog by now and entered you probably don't deserve to win anyway, right? ;)

100th Post

I've been a dedicated blogger for almost 1 year now and this is "Reese's Pieces" 100th post. If you read this blog regularly you probably know what a huge dork I am. Well, now is your chance to benefit from my dorkiness! I'm going to give away a huge Reese's candy variety package that will include some of the following.

Mmmm...Mud Puddles!

So in the end it may look a little something like this:

All you have to do is leave your first name and last initial (I know multiple Amy's & Marisa's etc.) in my comment section and I will pick a winner randomly out of a hat. I may do a couple smaller consolation prizes depending on how many people enter. You have until midnight on Monday night! Anybody can enter...friends, family, friends of friends, blog stalkers. (My comment section is set up so you don't have to be a registered blogger to enter.)

P.S. Sorry, but the giant Reese's with pig-tails at the very top will not be included in the package.

Dang That Doody!

So the little lady actually has RSV. As of yesterday Reese still wouldn't take anything down other than milk. I knew she had her 15 month appt. today so I figured I could just ask them what was going on then. But by yesterday afternoon she was screaming hysterically and just not acting like herself so I took her in anyway to see Dr. Doody. (Isn't that the best kids' doctor name ever? I had the hardest time not laughing when he first introduced himself.) Well he checked her over and found nothing to be wrong. I felt kind of stupid and was just sad that she wasn't acting right. Since they won't give shots when you bring them in for being sick I still had to keep my appt. for today for her regular check-up. This appt. was with our normal doctor Dr. Williams though. He checked her over and sounded concerned and decided to run a swab test to check for RSV. Sure enough that's what she has. I saw Dr. Doody as I was checking out and he seemed surpised to see us so I told him that she actually did test positive for RSV. I could tell he felt pretty stupid and he kind of made some excuses. My intention was not to make him feel that way so I told him that I think it just got worse overnight. But Dang that Doody. I felt so stupid bringing her in 2 days in a row, but it's so true to never go against a mommy's instinct that something's not right, right?

As a disclaimer: I promise that I Do Not take Reese to Wal-Mart weekly and force her to lick all the shopping carts. She has been so sick lately that I was starting to feel really bad like I was doing something wrong like not santizing things well enough or something. They made me feel better by telling me that some kids are just more susceptible to getting sick more often. My doctor also said that people blame way too much on teething and that's not actually what causes fevers and other things like that.

And I almost forgot, here are the stats for my "Little Body Big Head":

Weight: 18 lbs 11 oz= 5th percentile (I think she usually weighs more, but was thrown off with being sick)
Height: 30 1/2"= 50th percentile
Head: 18"=75th percentile (she takes after her daddy hehe)

Boring Bjorkmans

This has been us for the past few days.

Miss Reese is currently cutting tooth number 15 and 16 (obviously not those actual tooth numbers for all you fellow dental nerds). I always hear so many people say, "My little one just got 5 new teeth yesterday and I had no idea." What the?! Not my little Reese. She lets it be known. Poor girl. She's had a temp of 103 and hasn't had anything but milk for 2+ days now. It is kind of sweet to have her all cuddly again though. It's so cute when she's lying there because I pat her back to soothe her and she pats my arm at the same time like she's trying to soothe me too.

It has been nice to have a buddy to watch all my recorded "Who's the Boss" episodes with though. It's quite possibly the best show ever created. I watch it so much that Tom now cringes when he hears the theme song come on (that's the lovely music playing below for your listening pleasure). The story lines are amazing, not to mention the insane sexual tension between Tony and Angela.

The whole gang!

While she's been napping I've gone crazy organizing and throwing things away. I get the biggest high when I throw things out! I'm not a clean freak, but I am definitely an anti-clutter nazi. (You know you're an obsessed blogger when you have a picture of your trash for visual effect.)

I only found one lovely expired surprise while cleaning. It expired back in 2004. Don't go calling me Sherie Koch just yet. I still haven't beaten her record of Tylenol with an expiration date of '94.

So that's it for us right now. We're pretty darn boring. We didn't leave the house all day yesterday and I don't think we'll make it out today either. She's laying her head on me right now as I type.

Since we're so boring here's something a little more fun from "Friends" that will make you never listen to the song "Tiny Dancer" the same way again. (You may need to mute the music at the bottom of my blog for a sec to hear it.)

Better Late Than Never

To Keep With the Theme of Celebrating?!

My super talented friend Hollie has done it again! She took these pictures for us at Reese's birthday party back in October. She has been so crazy busy with Christmas pictures and other things that we just got them back last night. I love them! She did some really fun things with the coloring too. I tried narrowing down what to put on here, but there are still a bunch because I just loved too many.

This last one is my absolute favorite! Go ahead and click on it if you can handle the cuteness!

More Celebrating!

Christmas day has come and gone, but this week was still filled with lots more fun when we celebrated both Tom's birthday/New Year's Eve and a second Christmas when we got a fun package in the mail.

Tom's B-Day

Even these video game haters had a really fun time playing Guitar Hero.

P.S. The look on Tom's face is "Oh, crap, my wife is totally kicking my trash."

Christmas Package

Since we were in Idaho this year for Christmas my sweet mom sent us an awesome Christmas package to open the week after we got home.

"I'm so excited for the presents momoo and dadoo sent I can hardly contain myself."

My mom never lets us down with our Christmas PJ's even if we're not there. The boys always get matching and the girls get their own matching. This year's pj's included "Dave Koch" for President shirts. Did you know my brother is running for president? ;) (Okay, so not my brother David, but it was still fun to be "supporters" with his shirts.)

Tom has been wanting a Magic Bullet for years now. He always drools over the infomercials.

My family has this ongoing joke about who our dad's favorite is. Whenever one of us is alone with him he'll say that you are his favorite daughter/son. So this year each sibling got the book You're All My Favorites.

Great way to throw the rest of 'em off track mom and dad. It's okay, your secret's safe with me. (wink, wink)

Reese in her Christmas PJ's cuddling with the surprise rat that was also sent to us. (I came down the stairs one morning and this is really how she was.)

Reese loved the stroller, Elmo book, Magna-Doodle, and other fun things my parents got her! She even loved the box and packaging peanuts. She has wanted to get in the box every day since to play and gets mad if I try and take her out. This gives us a pretty good idea for what we might get her next Christmas.

Thanks for everything mom and dad! We loved it all!

Happy Happy Birthday Hubby Dear!

My sweet husband is 29 today! Here are 29 things I love about him!
  1. He isn't smelly. Don't know what it is, but I can at any time lay my head on him and have my nose right by his armpit and he just doesn't stink.

  2. He is an amazing dad. That may sound generic, but it's true. He is so on top of it with changing diapers, feeding her, reading her stories, playing "I'm gonna get you." He adores that girl like you wouldn't believe.

  3. His laugh. Have you heard it? I thought it was fake the first time I heard it. He tilts his head back and lets out a big "HA!" You just have to hear it.

  4. He's so spiritually obedient. I always tell people that compared to Tom, I'm the devil. Sometimes people ask me "how so" and I tell them that sometimes I miss doing my visiting teaching. He never misses home-teaching. Just today he said something about a guy that he hasn't home-taught in 3 months. I gasped, then he quickly said, "well, he's been in jail for 3 months." I guess that counts as an excuse. :) He also leads us in family prayer morning and night among many other things. He's a great example to me. P.S. I'm definitely not saying that missing visiting teaching is my greatest sin.

  5. The songs he makes up. He will turn anything into a song. The current hit topping the charts is "My Cheeky-Weekys." His album is in progress.

  6. Great provider for our family. He is super smart and got his master's degree from BYU in accounting (I believe it was the #2 or #3 accounting program in the nation at the time). And he now works so super hard for our family and never complains...I do all the complaining for him.

  7. He isn't hairy. The guy doesn't have a single chest hair. I love that!

  8. Awesome cook. I've talked about this many times on the blog, but the guy can cook! He can look in our cupboards when I think we have nothing to eat and create the most amazing meal from the most random ingredients.

  9. He makes me believe I'm beautiful. I can be having the most "poor me, my body's not little, my skin's horrible" day, and the second I'm around him I literally feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. It's not just by telling me, he actually somehow convinces me by how he makes me feel.

  10. He looks foreign. The first thing I thought when I saw him was that he looked European with his fair complexion and deep set squinty eyes. He is 1/2 Swedish, but I don't think that has anything to do with it...I'm just crazy. I think it's cute.

  11. He rhymes everything. Even when it doesn't make sense. For example: if he wants to tell me that something's out in the car he'll say, "let's just say that it's in something that rhymes with 'shmar'."

  12. He can talk to anybody. People love him! He really can carry on a conversation with anybody. He's a great listener and remembers everybody's name and facts about them.

  13. He has a cute little dimpled chin. It's suttle so it's cute. And he passed it on to Reese.

  14. He can eat a hamburger in 4 bites. I'm not so sure I actually love this one, but it's a pretty neat talent.
  15. This is actually pizza, but you get the idea.

  16. He's funny. He loves to be the funny guy especially when we get together with this certain group of friends we have out here. I love how one of his needs from me is for me to think he's funny.

  17. He's a dreamer. This can sometimes be frustrating because I'm such a realist, but it's actually a perfect balance for me. He makes me aspire for more.

  18. Incredible husband. Once again, that may sound generic, but I mean it! I lucked out big time when I married him. He treats me so so well! I think I take it for granted a lot. He treats me with so much respect and makes me feel safe. Like no matter how I'm feeling I can always turn to him, just be myself, and feel so comfortable and happy.

  19. His singing voice. I wouldn't necessarily call it great, but he loves to do it and is so cute when he gets into it. My sister Julie LOOOOVES to sing around the piano with him. When she called home for Christmas from her mission she specifically asked for Tom to sing to her.

  20. He abbreviates everything. "So how was RS today?" (Relief Society) "Do you want to watch AI?" (American Idol) I tell him that half the time he actually spends more time when he abbreviates because he then has to explain what it stands for. I think it's funny nonetheless.

  21. He's patient. This actually usually goes along with being an incredible husband. I probably get away with too much sometimes. It's very very hard to get Tom upset or to make him mad.

  22. He doesn't talk bad about people. But he doesn't judge me when I do. :) Once again, he's a great example to me with this. He always reminds me of something his parents taught him and that is not to ever think that you're better than others. He's very humble.

  23. He's hot! That cutie patooty caught my eye immediately the first time I saw him sitting across from me in the Harold B. Lee Library computer lab. I'm the one that asked him out first by the way. I'll save that story for another day.

  24. He's entertained by some of the funniest shows. A couple of his favorites include Little People Big World (or "LPBW" as he calls it) and Dog the Bounty Hunter.

  25. He pretends to care about my decorating ideas. I always like to ask his advice about my latest decorating project. If he doesn't like it then his opinion doesn't count of course, but he at least has learned to give an opinion and not just say "whatever you like ."

  26. His speaking voice. This is actually quite different from his singing voice. It's deep and just plain hot. He was once told by a random stranger that he has "the voice of God." Look out Morgan Freeman...you might have some competition for some of your movie roles.

  27. He provides great genes to make cute babies. Exhibit A is little Reese. I think the exhibits to follow will prove just as cute.

  28. Exhibit "A"

  29. He gives me frequent back rubs. They don't always last that long, but he does it usually without complaint. He also plays with my hair. That was literally something I had on my list for a future husband. On our second date he ran his fingers through my hair (fast mover) and said, "I love playing with hair." Right then, I knew he was for me. :)

  30. He has a really cool birthday. There's always a party going on. He says that it can be kind of sad though because everybody's always counting down the end of your birthday. I'm sure his parents also appreciate his birthday as he was a great tax deduction so many years ago.

  31. He's my best friend and I can't wait to spend the rest of forever with him!

Happy Birthday Tom! I love you!
