Happy Happy Birthday Hubby Dear!

My sweet husband is 29 today! Here are 29 things I love about him!
  1. He isn't smelly. Don't know what it is, but I can at any time lay my head on him and have my nose right by his armpit and he just doesn't stink.

  2. He is an amazing dad. That may sound generic, but it's true. He is so on top of it with changing diapers, feeding her, reading her stories, playing "I'm gonna get you." He adores that girl like you wouldn't believe.

  3. His laugh. Have you heard it? I thought it was fake the first time I heard it. He tilts his head back and lets out a big "HA!" You just have to hear it.

  4. He's so spiritually obedient. I always tell people that compared to Tom, I'm the devil. Sometimes people ask me "how so" and I tell them that sometimes I miss doing my visiting teaching. He never misses home-teaching. Just today he said something about a guy that he hasn't home-taught in 3 months. I gasped, then he quickly said, "well, he's been in jail for 3 months." I guess that counts as an excuse. :) He also leads us in family prayer morning and night among many other things. He's a great example to me. P.S. I'm definitely not saying that missing visiting teaching is my greatest sin.

  5. The songs he makes up. He will turn anything into a song. The current hit topping the charts is "My Cheeky-Weekys." His album is in progress.

  6. Great provider for our family. He is super smart and got his master's degree from BYU in accounting (I believe it was the #2 or #3 accounting program in the nation at the time). And he now works so super hard for our family and never complains...I do all the complaining for him.

  7. He isn't hairy. The guy doesn't have a single chest hair. I love that!

  8. Awesome cook. I've talked about this many times on the blog, but the guy can cook! He can look in our cupboards when I think we have nothing to eat and create the most amazing meal from the most random ingredients.

  9. He makes me believe I'm beautiful. I can be having the most "poor me, my body's not little, my skin's horrible" day, and the second I'm around him I literally feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. It's not just by telling me, he actually somehow convinces me by how he makes me feel.

  10. He looks foreign. The first thing I thought when I saw him was that he looked European with his fair complexion and deep set squinty eyes. He is 1/2 Swedish, but I don't think that has anything to do with it...I'm just crazy. I think it's cute.

  11. He rhymes everything. Even when it doesn't make sense. For example: if he wants to tell me that something's out in the car he'll say, "let's just say that it's in something that rhymes with 'shmar'."

  12. He can talk to anybody. People love him! He really can carry on a conversation with anybody. He's a great listener and remembers everybody's name and facts about them.

  13. He has a cute little dimpled chin. It's suttle so it's cute. And he passed it on to Reese.

  14. He can eat a hamburger in 4 bites. I'm not so sure I actually love this one, but it's a pretty neat talent.
  15. This is actually pizza, but you get the idea.

  16. He's funny. He loves to be the funny guy especially when we get together with this certain group of friends we have out here. I love how one of his needs from me is for me to think he's funny.

  17. He's a dreamer. This can sometimes be frustrating because I'm such a realist, but it's actually a perfect balance for me. He makes me aspire for more.

  18. Incredible husband. Once again, that may sound generic, but I mean it! I lucked out big time when I married him. He treats me so so well! I think I take it for granted a lot. He treats me with so much respect and makes me feel safe. Like no matter how I'm feeling I can always turn to him, just be myself, and feel so comfortable and happy.

  19. His singing voice. I wouldn't necessarily call it great, but he loves to do it and is so cute when he gets into it. My sister Julie LOOOOVES to sing around the piano with him. When she called home for Christmas from her mission she specifically asked for Tom to sing to her.

  20. He abbreviates everything. "So how was RS today?" (Relief Society) "Do you want to watch AI?" (American Idol) I tell him that half the time he actually spends more time when he abbreviates because he then has to explain what it stands for. I think it's funny nonetheless.

  21. He's patient. This actually usually goes along with being an incredible husband. I probably get away with too much sometimes. It's very very hard to get Tom upset or to make him mad.

  22. He doesn't talk bad about people. But he doesn't judge me when I do. :) Once again, he's a great example to me with this. He always reminds me of something his parents taught him and that is not to ever think that you're better than others. He's very humble.

  23. He's hot! That cutie patooty caught my eye immediately the first time I saw him sitting across from me in the Harold B. Lee Library computer lab. I'm the one that asked him out first by the way. I'll save that story for another day.

  24. He's entertained by some of the funniest shows. A couple of his favorites include Little People Big World (or "LPBW" as he calls it) and Dog the Bounty Hunter.

  25. He pretends to care about my decorating ideas. I always like to ask his advice about my latest decorating project. If he doesn't like it then his opinion doesn't count of course, but he at least has learned to give an opinion and not just say "whatever you like ."

  26. His speaking voice. This is actually quite different from his singing voice. It's deep and just plain hot. He was once told by a random stranger that he has "the voice of God." Look out Morgan Freeman...you might have some competition for some of your movie roles.

  27. He provides great genes to make cute babies. Exhibit A is little Reese. I think the exhibits to follow will prove just as cute.

  28. Exhibit "A"

  29. He gives me frequent back rubs. They don't always last that long, but he does it usually without complaint. He also plays with my hair. That was literally something I had on my list for a future husband. On our second date he ran his fingers through my hair (fast mover) and said, "I love playing with hair." Right then, I knew he was for me. :)

  30. He has a really cool birthday. There's always a party going on. He says that it can be kind of sad though because everybody's always counting down the end of your birthday. I'm sure his parents also appreciate his birthday as he was a great tax deduction so many years ago.

  31. He's my best friend and I can't wait to spend the rest of forever with him!

Happy Birthday Tom! I love you!

That is so sweet Rachel. Tom is quite the guy and you know that I highly approved of your marriage decision (I know that my approval was one of the most important reasons you married him after all.) Of course I think he found quite the catch too!! And I loved the pictures and video from your Bjorkman Christmas. We had a one-woman show acting out the Christmas story at our house and your video of Reese and the baby doll reminded me of our own little "Mary". I think Reese and Abby are really twins (just born 8 months apart and to different mothers!)

Are you saying Tom's birthday is the 31st too? Well, what do you know? I told Mike and he wishes his birthday compadre a happy one.

I always feel bad the party's not really for them and I never get too excited about making a special cake because there is already too much buffalo cheesy dip and Ritz crackers to go around. Secretly, I think for 2008 we're celebrating a half birthday. Then people won't be so busy with their "plans."

Tom says thank you for all the birthday wishes! I will speak for him and say that he had a great day full of pampering including breakfast and not having to change one single diaper.

Alissa, how crazy that they have the same birthday. Happy Birthday right back to Mike. I like the idea of a doing a half birthday for him instead next year. Your right that everybody's celebrating but not at all for them. Also, yours and my birthdays are only 2 days apart right? Aren't you the 2nd of March (I'm the 4th)?

Boy, Tom, that sure is a great birthday present. I bet that took Rachel a while to put together.

I love when you do these kind of lists, Rach. They're such fun insight to Bjorkman famil08+y life.
