It's always a party at the Bjorkmans! Yeah right. Well last night we had a different kind of party. You see, Reese woke up with pink eye yesterday morning. Luckily for Reese, fun Daddy was home to make pink eye day much better.
It turns out that having to pin your screaming child down and prying her eye open to put drops in isn't all that fun. So although Daddy did have to help with the pinning and prying, he added some fun elements to the day. At least every hour Tom would sound a pretend trumpet which meant that it was time for us all to wash our hands. The girls got so excited about this and even sounded their own pretend trumpets for hand washing throughout the day.
Then later, Tom saw that we had a container of pink frosting left over from Valentine's Day. He had the grand idea of having a Pink Eye Party by making and eating a pink eye cake. Although I'm pretty sure it was just his excuse to mix up our usual Sunday brownies (he's not a fan), the girls loved it and it was pretty darn funny....at least to us.

Yep, things are definitely a lot more fun when Daddy's around. Let me assure you that with the exception of the continued blowing trumpets, pink eye day #2 has not been nearly as fun. I think we may try and get out of the house by making our way to Del Taco's drive-thru. Who knows, maybe they have some sort of pink eye special. Ya think?

I love the eye cake! Tom is such a fun dad. And prying those little eyes open to put the medicine in is so hard. I had to do it to William whe he was just a baby, and I hated every second of it.
oh how I love you and Tom!!! You win the award for the cutest parents around!! Pink eye is the worst and I hope yoy get over it soon.
That is hilarious. How many dads would do that?? Although I can't believe he doesn't like brownies. Unheard of.
What do you mean Tom doesn't like brownies?!!! I have to say I was laughing out loud when I read this post. The pink eye cake was so funny! However, I totally feel for Reese... I've had an eye infection these last few days and they are no fun at all. Lucky for her you guys turn the worst of things into something fun. You and Tom are too cute!!!
What a fun dad to make a pretty crappy situation better. Also, I am always in support of Del-Taco, especially because today is Taco Tuesday! (It's been 2 sad years since we lived near a Del-Taco, though, so maybe they don't do that any more.)
That cake is hilarious!! I love that he made a really not-fun situation, so much more fun. Rob is way better at that than I am, too. I loved that post!
Oh I hope you get better soon so you can leave the house of pink eye!
Oh wow, I know pink eye is no fun for you but the party and pink eye cake will be a legendary story when your girls get older, I'm sure. Talk about a glass "half full" kind of guy.
Claire is adorable and she's getting so grown up. She was such just a newborn when we saw her last and I'm looking forward to being around her this summer.
You're seem to be on a blogging roll....very impressive.
The pink eye cake is awesome! I am very impressed. I could use some of his creativity in my calling.
