The Rebecca Formerly Known As My Roommate

About a week after Tom's sister Becky left, my old college roomie Becky came and stayed with us for a day/night. I think she and I figured that it had been about 10 years since we had seen each other.

We lived with each other during our sophomore year in Sparks II. For some reason, Becky never captured that magical Sparks II feeling and seems to have ZERO memories of that year. The only possible explanation I can think of is that she may have been traumatized by a few events which then forced her to block out that phase of her life.

Could it have possibly been the day a few random guys that I had met on campus surprised my apartment by showing up dressed as giant bunnies and mechanics (with briefs on the outside), and then forced us to play rounds of musical chairs and egg relay games?
Or perhaps it was the horrid ward talent show number where we completely humiliated ourselves. Specifically the moment when she and I jumped off the stage and ran up to a couple guys for the part of the song, "Hey you, I'm free!" "What about me?" Speaking of horrid...that camera angle wasn't doing anybody any favors..She definitely could have been upset about missing out on the Vegas trip to see N'Sync's "No Strings Attached" concert. P.S. The back of my shirt was a love shout out to Lance. See, my love for gay singers started way before Clay and Adam.
Or maybe it was Paul Springer. (JUST KIDDING Paul Springer...who is no doubt an avid follower of my blog.)

Yeah, it really could have been any number of things that made her block that year out....
But I'm so happy that she at least remembered me ;) and decided to stop at our house during her 6 week road trip. I had so much fun with her and our girls got along fabulously. Reese still asks about her "brand new friend", Eden.

We spent the day at the park on the swings and feeding ducks.

Later that night, Reese and Eden bonded even more over a shared love....Curious George.

The Man In the Yellow Hat even made a surprise guest appearance...

which appeared to make Eden's night!
It was SO much fun catching up with you, Becky. Hopefully it won't be another 10 years! :)

I think it's that I look like a freak in absolutely every one of those pictures. (but it's probably because we didn't do the "love shack" until the following year- that she would have remembered!)

Love the pics. Of course the NSYNC one in particular brings back the memories!

Oh man we definitely should have hung out more in college. What fun you had. Oh ps, did I mention that Nathan is living in Sparks II right now? I think of you when I visit him. :)

Why does Paul Springer look so familiar? I remember Heidi, Mary, and Dadra, but not Becky well. Isn't that other girl named Lauren? I don't think I even hung out with you much that year, but those photos definitely took me back. And, by the way, you have always looked so pretty. You even look good in the late 90's fashions.

Oh, NSYNC! What fun that was...I propose that you all come back to Vegas next time they're in town. Unlikely, I know, but a girl can dream!

Now that I have seen the evidence I guess I believe these things really happened. Thanks so much for having us. I'd write you a referral as the best hostess ever, but then you might be so overbooked that you wouldn't have room for us to make a repeat visit. :) Thanks for a post that made me laugh...and shrink with embarrassment.

Hey, I didn't even know you when Becky lived with you, but I remember going to your apt after ward stare or for FHE or something and seeing that "Mo Miggidy Madness" on your board...and thinking you were a wild bunch of girls! Ha ha, just kidding. And I remember Paul Springer. What is the name of their roommate that looked like Ken Barbie doll? I can't remember...
