I met Dorothy in 2005 shortly after she married my Grandpa Bill. Because I lived so far away, I can't say that I knew Dorothy as well as I would have liked to. But what I did know of her, I loved! She was outgoing, smart and witty, always smiling, the queen of Farmville, a proud democrat, and most importantly, she made my grandpa happy. And for that, we all loved Dorothy. It was obviously very rough for my grandpa when my Grandma Cherie passed away, and while he still missed/misses her, it was so nice to see him happy again and with somebody so special.

One of my favorite things about Dorothy was the love and attention she showed to all the children around her.
Taylor, Dorothy, June
Taylor, Dorothy, JuneAnd she was always so good about remembering names and facts about us all. I was never quite sure if she studied up on my blog right before I saw her or what, but I always felt like she knew quite a bit about me and my kids.
The week Dorothy died, my mom was supposed to fly out to visit us. We ended up flip-flopping our plans, and the girls and I hopped on the plane instead and headed to Vegas for the funeral. And I'm so glad we did.
She was such a GREAT addition to the family and we will miss her dearly.

Rach I am so sorry for your families loss! I have always loved your Grandpa and while I don't know that I ever got to meet Dorothy I can only imagine how much he loves and misses her. :) My thoughts and prayers are with all of you still!
