Something crazy has been going on in the Koch household. When I was down visiting last, I opened the cookie jar (which is usually filled with some sort of sugary goodness) and was surprised/saddened to see this....
Say what? Apparently this is a wild and crazy treat for my parents these days. They are eating so insanely healthy now that I hardly know what to do with myself when I'm there. I did manage to find the one bag of cheese puffs that somehow made its way into their pantry. The glorious pantry that was once filled with endless amounts of cookies and chips is no more.
Since about January my dad has lost about 45 lbs. and my mom has lost 50 lbs. I am so proud of them! Especially that they are losing it in such a healthy way. Who needs Jillian? I just need my parents to come to my house and kick my booty into shape. Way to go, Mom & Dad!

Thanks Rachel! Sorry we didn'nt have anything yummy to snack on. Thanks goodness Dave Coon came to the rescue with Cookies and Cream ice cream and Drumsticks.
WE ARE LIVING PARALLEL LIVES!! :) The same thing happened to me when my mom went on weight watchers. I remember going down to visit and wandering from the fridge to the pantry to the cupboards and finally turning to my mom and saying "Where in the world is all the FOOD??" lol. That is so awesome that your folks have done so well. Love your family!!
My parents have told me how great your parents are doing! That takes a lot of hard work and dedication to lose 45 and 50 pounds, especially when you have a neighbor who brings you ice cream!! Your mom's comments made me laugh out loud. . . what is he thinking??!! However, you know my dad likes you if he brings you ice cream:)
Wow maybe your parents need to hit my house on the way to yours! Ryan has been saying the same thing since he has been gone. That we need to remove all the treats.

Exactly my thoughts......& in the words of David....."What lobotomy took place in this house?" I could always count on comfort food for dinner, but now it's just veggies galore!!
So true Rachel, it is a major switch, and a great one at that. Our kids keep talking about the "old" and the "new" grandma and grandpa. P.S. I LOVE YOUR PLAYROOM!!! Way to go!
