Yes, (in the words of my sister :) ) I am "one of those moms". Roll your eyes if you must. I just can't help myself! I admit that all the sugar and hoopla was maybe a bit excessive for a 1 year old who probably would have been just as content with mom, dad, sis, and a cupcake; but I guess that's just not how I roll. I seriously LOVE planning all the details! The fact that my mom let me raid some leftover inventory of her store, "Lollipops & Roses", sure made my job easier/cuter/cheaper. The only thing missing was Tom being dressed in a giant lollipop costume!
Claire was so cute and clingy at the beginning of the party.
She still wasn't quite sure what to think when we were singing happy birthday.

Her instincts definitely kicked in when it was time to actually dig in though.
I need to figure out how to upload my video---she was hilarious with the cake, and was going crazy rubbing the frosting all over her face. It was like she couldn't get it in fast enough.Fearful that Tom may leave her soaking, I was in charge of Claire clean-up.

We ended the night with Claire opening a couple presents from Mommy and Daddy.

We love our little lady and have a hard time believing she's 1. We had so much fun celebrating her day with a very fitting SWEET birthday party!

Wow, I want you to throw MY birthday party! Very very cute. :) And the birthday girl is pretty cute too...
Oh my gosh you are freaking awesome. What a fun birthday! lol about Tom leaving her to soak. And where in the world did you get that pink cake stand? I love it! Love the lolipops, love the invitations, love the cake, love love love. You da Mom. :)
You seriously have a gift Rachel!! I see 'Birthday Party Design Star' in your future!!
Really, what a super super cute party for a super cute little girl! Can hardly believe Claire is 1... wow how time flys!
My poor little kids only get a family party with some homemade decorations... so deprived!! :)
So dang cute, Rachel! All of it. . . the candy, the cakes, the decorations. . . and of course little Claire. . . SO CUTE! The great ideas run in the family:)
Looks fantastic from start to finish! She's so very petite and grown up, all at the same time. Love it all--great job!
WOW!!! That looked like one AWESOME party! Love it! You did such a sweet :) job!!! And what a cute little one year old you have (I can't believe she is one either!).
Rachel, you did a beautiful job. Your kiddos are going to have such great memories.
What a "SWEET" party for such a precious little girl. I always love looking at your ideas and creativity for birthday parties. And I have to comment on something else too...I think you look fabulous in these pictures!! With your cute clothes, perfect hair, teeth and makeup!!! Man, you put me to shame in more ways than one!! I'm lucky to have an outfit that doesn't have kid goobers all over it and hair in a ponytail most days of the week. What a great looking family you have!!!
Happy Birthday Claire! Wish we could have come to the party - my girls would have loved that.
Jocelyn just told me she wants to look at Reese's blog.
We sent two boxes your way today - the smaller one should arrive sooner than the larger one.
After looking through your blog Jocey was thriled to see that she has the same dog as Reese (in the daddy daughter date post) and the same blue monkey pj's.
Okay so this is about the cutest birthday party I have ever seen. You did such a great job. Can I hire you for our little girls first birthday. Did you make the cake? It is adorable.
Such a great party! Claire is too cute with her stroller!
You are so good at this stuff, Rachel, so you just keep on doing it. I would probably do the same if I had any kind of creativity. You really could do a party planning business.
I will NOT roll my eyes... I wish I was one of "those moms" because we've never even done anything for our girls except one their first birthdays. Sometimes I just don't feel like doing it. I love that you always have a fun theme. Tell Claire, "Happy late birthday," from us. It looks like you had way too much fun!
You got a lot of great photos, especially of my favorite part, her devouring the cake. She's so stinking cute and we were happy to be able to attend one of your fabulous (close to famous?) birthday parties. Lucky lucky girls. No eye rolls here. P.S. Brady is still working on his too-heavy-to-carry lollipop.
You certainly know how to throw a party! I'm sad I wasn't there - it looked like a sugar junkie's dream!
Claire is too cute, I can't believe she's 1 already!
Seriously you are one of those mom! What a cute idea for a party. Any kids would go for that. It turned out really cute. You asked on my blog if Matt (Janae's husband) had an ortho practice. And yeah its been going now for a couple of years almost. Oh and I just realized something today. I'm friends here in CA with one of your old BYU roommates. Colette. She is in my ward and our little girls are friends. I'm not sure her maiden name but she Married Travis Jensen. Such a small world.
Rachel, can you plan all my kids' next parties? You think of everything, and it is so professional-looking! I'm sorry I missed Claire's b-day. I am beginning to be an old crazy aunt. Please give her a hug and a squeeze from us. We love you guys.
So So SO cute! Might have to steal the idea for our little claire's party. How did you make the hanging ball flowers? (I'm sure they have the more professional name)
Okay, seriously???? That cake is probably cuter than the one we looked at. I seriously don't know how you do your parties. I know you said you get ideas online, but I could get tons of ideas too. It's the FOLLOW THROUGH that is lacking here. Noah just told me I need to do parties like yours....maybe he's trying to tell me he wants a lollipop party next year? ;)
