I love birthdays (any one's really)! So you better believe that when it's my own child's that there is an awful lot of spoiling that goes on. And I don't necessarily mean with money, just LOTS and LOTS of attention. To some people it's just another day....that attitude is strictly forbidden around my house!
Sugar really is the way to this girl's heart, so we started the day off right with eating a couple cupcakes. (She did eat a pancake right before, if that makes it any better???)
Lunch was followed by a birthday spin on the carousel. We usually try to sneak right passed the carousel because it's so teeny and fast that it totally makes me sick. She loves it though, so a birthday sacrifice it was.
Reese's big present from Tom and me this year was to get her ears pierced. We debated about doing this for a while and in the end decided, who cares?! She has been excited about doing it for a while and is always walking around with stickers on her ears or even earplugs inside her ears and calling them earrings. She was definitely not too thrilled with the pain involved, but got over it pretty quickly and was totally ready for the mommy paparazzi later.
We ended the evening with more birthday cake...

Looks like a super fun day and a fabulous party too! She is an adorable 3-year-old!!
Happy Bday Reese! I totally agree with your spoiling on birthdays theory.
Tom is looking so so so skinny in these photos. He's totally motivated Steve.
Your decorations are adorable! And Reese has got to be the cutest 3 year old in Colorado!
What a cute little 3 year old you have there. I'm glad you had such fun spoiling Reese on her special day. Happy Birthday little lady!!
I love how many absoultely adorable kid appliances she has. I bet those are so fun to play with. I would've loved a washing machine when I was little. What a great find.
Of all the things I could comment on (Happy Birthday cute Reesey!) the one that sticks with me is that you don't like the carousel at the mall. Don't we get boring as we get older? I remember as a kid that my mom would avoid fun stuff like that and I had the thought, "I will never be boring like her." 25 years later, I get sick on those kind of rides too. What's happened to us?
happy birthday reese! she's such a doll. i can't believe she is 3 already!
I had a Rainbow Bright dishwasher when I was little that I loved. I think it was cool cause you could put stuff in it. What a find!
So fun to get her ears pierced. We debated a long time with Kalyana too and in the end decided the same thing. Who cares. So we did it. But she wanted to wear dangly earrings so badly that after the mandatory 6 weeks I let her switch the starters for other small ones. After the first few days she said it hurt and wouldn't let me put anything back in. Ugh I was so sad, they totally grew back in. (I even tried to sneak put them in while she was asleep.) Any who, my guess is she'll be begging for it in another few years. :)
