Dear Blog,

I kind of miss you and feel as though I've been neglecting you a bit. Sure, for some people to go a couple weeks without posting is nothing, but for me...not so normal. And I don't like it. Don't worry, I still love you and consider you to be one of my favorite hobbies; it's just that my normal blogging times seem to have been taken over by a few other things as of late......

Like re-painting my family room/kitchen area

People say painting is fun? Ugh! Love the results, but what a pain in the batooty!

And watching episodes of LOST into the wee hours of the night. ("wee hours"= until I fall asleep on the couch at 9:30.)
(Speaking of, anybody live nearby who owns season 3 and is willing to loan it out? Our dear buddy, Blockbuster, has made quite a killing off us for Season 2 :) )

I've also been busy teaching the little Miss to fall asleep without being swaddled. Great fun.
Blog, do you remember this sweet sleeping angel that I posted about a while back? Well, I haven't seen much of her since Hawaii, so if you do, will you please send her my way? I'd love to post about her great sleeping habits again.

Oh, and I best not forget this morning's grand adventure that led me to the urgent care for a few stitches.
Warning: Graphic Image Below

All in a day's work I suppose. Don't worry, the gross glossiness and dried crusty blood in the picture make it look much worse than it is. Besides, I have a little positive attitude helper in Reese. "You have owie? Don't be sad. Be happy!"

Well, my beloved blog, as you can see, I've been a little pre-occupied. Just thought I'd check in and tell you that I haven't forgotten about you. I have a few posts that should be up shortly so we shall be reunited soon. Until then....

With Love,
Rachel

I don't think I have ever been the first to comment on your blog! Ouch, what happened to your head? Did you drop the paint can on it? I want to see pictures of the room once it's all done. Also, love it that the LOST obsession is still going on. We miss you guys.

Hey and I am BIG NUMBER 2!!!! that is so exciting.

Boy you have had a busy life - you didn't even mention Space Chimps - I am not sure I would have either!!

I love Lost - I was just thinking today about how long it will be before we find out what happened on that silly island. Check out the Library - last time I checked they had all of the seasons. Good luck

love ya

It is highly unlikely that your beloved blog readers (myself included) are going to let you get away with leaving out the story of how exactly those stitches found their way into your forehead. Looks nasty. I've heard so many people who love Lost, that I'm kind of afraid to watch it for fear of getting addicted. I want to see your cute house. Someday.

Holy crap what'd you do?

I am so excited you are watching LOST!! I can't say it enough.

And you are forgiven for no blogging. I haven't been keeping up on mine either. But, I don't really have an excuse.

We're missed you Rachel! Sounds like you've been busy and I can't wait to see the results of all your hard work. I loved Reese's comment about your "owie." Too cute!!

Yeah. What happened to your head? What's that story all about? And how did you "run to the hospital for stitches" with 2 kids in tow? Yikes.

What the heck happened to your head.... you forgot that story. I am sorry that Claire isn't sleeping, what a bummer. I also want a picture of your living room. It looks like a different green? hmmmm... the mysteries of the blog.

Hey! You can't leave us all hanging- what happened to your head? And maybe it is something going around....I can't seem to have enough time for my blog either!

I know how hard it is to keep up with blogging. But seems as if you have been really busy. Ouch to your stiches. What happened? Hope it heals soon.
Your girls are just too cute and love seeing the cute pictures.
I love Lost (I only have season one on DVD) and try to keep up with all of it. Can't wait to see how it all turns out.

a) I can so hear your voice saying "batooty". Dear roommate, lets hang out sometime when you're chillin out here again.

2) you gotta do the netflix thing. We are signed up for 2 dvd's and watching series of shows so we have one to watch while the other one is on it's way. It's magic. (No late fees. Beautiful thing!) ---Also I believe Lost is on Hulu.com. You can watch it on the computer or stream it through an xbox if you have one. Email me if you want details.

c) I'm not a sleep expert but love to throw out crappy advice. Have you tried noises (white noise, fan, music) to help soothe her?

4) can we have a contest as to guessing what that graphic image was caused from? My guess is flying food in the kitchen or hitting it on the corner of the table/counter.

I want to see the finished results of your kitchen!
That cut looks nasty. What happened?

Yeah - what happened? I'm sure you have whole blog post for the story, so I'll stay tuned. Is the green the color you painted? I love it. I was going for that kind of green in our playroom, but ours turned out a lot lighter and brighter, which is okay for a playroom, I guess. I hope Claire starts doing better with the no-swaddling.

(This is Tom's cousin, Heather)

You have such a beautiful family. :) I found your blog through Karen's blog. It's so much fun to see your kids and where you are in life. Tell Tom hi for me. Your girls are BEAUTIFUL!!! and I'm totally wishing I could go to Maui and get some banana bread right now!LOL :)

What happened to your head!?! You are apparently a full-contact parent. I do have to agree with you about painting though - I am not a fan of doing it. As far as Claire sleeping without being swaddled, we are still trying to work on sleeping through the night, so it could be worse (it TOTALLY 'sucks to be the Smith's' right now).

I've been way busy so I haven't checked blogs for awhile, but we have been rewatching all the episodes starting with Season 1 and we watch them online at abc.com

They are free, you just have to watch a 20 second commercial every once in awhile (maybe 4 or 5 an episode). You can watch it in standard or high definition and as long as you have a high speed internet connection it doesn't back up at all.We watch an episode a night before we go to bed.

Try it, even if Blockbuster will get mad, it will save you money!

And I saw you on Friday and thought maybe you burned yourself with a curling iron and I would be nice by not asking what it ! was!!! Hee, hee! I hadn't read your blog yet :) I am so sorry that happened to you. It was fun to see you though :)

BTW, I highly recommend getting steri-strips (definitely can find them at CVS) to have on hand. They kill butterfly bandaids because you can cut them to length. Next time you whack your head open (if you're anything like me...it will happen again) you'll be happy you have those. It will save you a shot and some money. I've cut open my eyebrow once, my forehead once, my fingers which you know about. An EMT and nurse have told me that if you can get it to stop bleeding and back together, there is no need to get stitches. I was debating with my finger, but when I finally got it stopped I just figured I'd leave it be. Still have my fingers....however weird they are now. :)

Cory and I used to watch seasons of Lost on DVD as well. I recommend buying the season on eBay ($30 or so) and selling it when you're finished. You'll lose a couple bucks, but much less than you'd spend renting them at Blockbuster.

Clara is very fascinated by your "owie." She keeps asking, "Mom, what is that?" That's so cute what Reese said. I can just hear her saying that. Get well soon! Your kitchen paint looks great, by the way. I love green kitchens!
