I've had some people ask what the other name choices were.
So without further adieu, here are the names that almost were...but weren't...but still might someday be...for future girls...so don't shoot 'em down if you don't like them...or you might just hurt my feelings. :) And don't say, "oh you should have named her that" either. Just nod and smile. Thank you for your cooperation.
The spunkier/trendy name that I was pretty sure our parents wouldn't like: Emerson (Emmy) Claire. This was the one we really almost named her. It still might be a possibility for another girl (obviously with a different middle name), but it just didn't feel right for her.
The biblical name that was second runner up: Leah Noelle
The old ladyish name: Evelyn (Evie)
The family name with a bit of a spin on it: Tess (after my Grandma Theresa)
Claire by the way is a family name as well. It was my great grandma's. I also have a cute little niece named Clara.
As for the new name of our blog...I'm open to suggestions. Tom keeps shooting down any ideas I have but has no suggestions of his own. It might end up being something as simple as "The Bjorkmans." Sorry, my creative juices just aren't flowing at this time. Such pressure.

So, Claire Bjorkman is seriously my favorite out of all those names. Sounds very dignified and smart, yet fun and spunky at the same time. You did good...she's a doll by the way, must run in the family:)
Bjorkman Bunch maybe?
What about "Babes in a Bjork Fam"?
Love Emerson! That was one of my girl names if this one was a girl.
Good luck on the new blog title. I have no ideas for you.
Oh my goodness she is so beautiful. Seriously you guys need to just keep populating the world with beautiful children. I just have to say rock on for having a bow in her hair just hours old! you look fantastic and I love the video of reese. Congrats!
I love all those and I am not just saying that so you will be my friend!! As for the name of the blog you could do like Bjorkmans Sweet Tooth (staring Reese & E-Claire) I know it is kinda cheesy but maybe it will give you something to work with!! :)
I seriously love all of them - I don't think you could have gone wrong. As for a blog name, I'm no help there. I laughed at Marylin's "eclaire"
I was curious about the other names, too. Thanks for sharing! I think all of those names are beautiful, but I'm glad you chose Claire because I think she definitely looks like a little Claire.
I'll have to think about a name for your blog. That's a tough one.
I think Claire is a perfect name. Reese and Claire fit perfectly together. You guys did really good... she is beautiful! Also, I LOVE the video of Reese saying how funny the baby is:) It is a lot for their little minds to figure out all at once!!
I have a niece named Emery (was almost Emerson), I have a cousin named Leah, I have a cousin who has a baby named Evie Jane so I won't be shooting down any of your name options! I love them all. Don't know anyone named Tess, but I think it's cute!!
No ideas for blog names. I'll be thinking though. Hope you are feeling great.
You have fantastic name taste. I love how Claire and Reese sound together..that's something I always think about. Emerson was a name Steve and I considered for Jocelyn because I love the nick name Emmy.
So...if you have a 3rd child their name could either put you in a pattern or else you'll do something totally different. Now that I have three girls with 3 syllable first names that can be shortened to a "y" nick name and 1 syllable middle names I feel like I have to do that next time. So maybe we will have a boy or maybe I will just rebel against my own pattern. Who knows.
BYW, I just dropped a little something in the mail for Claire and Reese.
And I was not suggesting that you need to be thinking about a 3rd child at this point...but you do have such beautiful little girls! I love watching my three little girls be sisters to each other.
Okay, so Jen's comment made me think of Babes in Toyland....so maybe Babes in Bjorkland?
Ooooo I love all of those names! Especially Emerson!!! Claire is a beautiful name- it's also my Great Grandmothers name and I was named after her and I named my daughter after her- except there is no e. I think Reese is hilarious! And its just wrong for you to have gone through labor and delivery and look so rested and beautiful! Wrong I tell you! Sorry I'm rambling!
P.S. I love Marylin idea for a title!
'Emerson' is a little long for Bjorkman. Perhaps you should consider the alternatives 'Ralph' or 'Waldo'. Both fine girl's names.
The above snark is from Jake, not Jaz.
I seriously LOVED all of the names you had on your list--honestly! My nieces name is Emerson and they call her Emmie--so I totally think that was is SO cute, too. I think that Claire is the perfect choice. You have so many other cute names to pick from for another girl. Isn't it funny how some names just don't feel right once you meet your little baby? I look back now on the list of names we had for Kelsey and still feel like she just wouldn't have fit those other (albeit cute) names.
I can't wait to hear the birth story! She is absolutely beautiful. How's the adjustment to two so far?
I love all the names you guys picked - maybe I will just have to show Justin your blog and say, 'Choose one of their rejects'!! I adore the name Tess, it is a little old-ladyish, but I'd use it in a heartbeat! You guys have good taste!
I can't help with the blog name, my creative juices have gone missing along with my waistline!!
You know I love that name and it was my favorite as well, but any one of those would have been way cute. Good for future reference :)
Your caveat at the beginning of the entry made me laugh - but you are wise to include it ;). I love the name Claire. Great choice. Emy would've been cute too. Someday Claire will get a kick out of finding out what her name almost was. It'll be interesting to see if you still love the other names by the next kid since tastes can change and since you're going to have a boy next :o). As for the blog name, I like the suggestion "Bjorkman Babes".
I've got it! I have only seen the tv version of course, but in the movie Silence of the Lambs, there's a line, more famously quoted by Jim Carrey in Cable Guy, where the bad guy Hannibal Lector says...."Hello Clarice (main girl's name), it's good to see you again." So since your blog is read by many people that I'm sure have seen the movie, you can call it HELLO CLAIRE-REECE, IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN. Ding ding ding, we have a winner.
I don't even think reess knows who i am!!
I love it!
Thank you so much for your sweet words...right back at ya!
Congrats!! Claire is such a beautiful name! We are still undecided on a name for our baby girl.....it is so hard!! My mom's actual first name is Theresa (Sue is her middle name) and she admitted to us she always wanted to be called Tess and so instead of going by Grandma, she is going by Tess....ha,ha I think it is hilarious.
I just came upon your blog and think your girls are adorable! How about blog title.....
Claire's Bits and Reese's Pieces
kind of corny but thought i would throw it out there.
I just left the above comment and left out the rest...
"claires bits and reese's pieces
the bits and pieces of our lives".
christy
So I read your blog post, but just got to commenting. Although I love all of your name choices, I think Claire Noelle flows the best. Great choice, although I know it is solely Tom and your choice.
I like the idea Babes in Bjorkland- then when/if you have more kids you won't have to change the title because even a boy would be a babe. However, the E-Claire makes me laugh and they both sure are sweeties! Good luck and don't stress about it silly- just enjoy time with your two angels!
One more thing I just thought of, when my oldest sister had her first daughter they choose the name Hildegard and my mom was so distraught. I know my sister and her husband got a lot of negative comments as well, but now she is 5 and we love her name and it suites her (they call her Hilde). So, I think (within reason, some parents are mean) the parents choose the correct name so even though I like the name Claire I'm glad you choose Reese for your first child and were seriously consider using a name you knew others might not like for your second.
I love "Claire's Bits and Reese's Pieces". I also love Ginger's - "Babes in Bjorkland". Good luck with the change. Kevin wants to change our blog name to "One Little, Happy Hat Trick" after we have the baby. A Hat Trick is when you score three goals in hockey. I think three kids still qualifies as a "Little, Happy Family". We'll see what happens.
??? For the blog title... it's okay to go with something simple like the Bjorkman famiy...What about "From the mouths of babes... moments in the Bjorkman family."??? Sorry, I'm not that creative right now. I do like the Claire-Reese and starring Reese and E-Claire. Your options are endless. Good luck!
I love all your guys' blog title suggestions! You are all definitely more creative than me. I think we're definitely going to be going with "Hello Claire-Reese. It's good to see you again." Ha! I seriously laughed about that one all day.
And thank you for your cooperation with not saying our other name choices were bad. We realize the name Emerson sounds long with Bjorkman, but who cares? We still love it. I do have to get after one person who didn't fully cooperate though and simply say NO MORE snide remarks about names from JETHRO's father!
Adam, Adam, Adam. You have officially ruined my view of Rachel's girls' names. Maybe if she has another boy/girl, she can name it Hanni or Lexi (lector). You're nuts.
I'm laughing at Emerson being too long with Bjorkman. We had a name that was way too long for Farnsworth, and Ryan said it didn't matter because she was going to get married and change her name anyway. She'd only hate it for 20 years. ha!
Anyway, I love all your name choices. Claire was on our list, but Rowan won the battle! She is a beautiful baby, I'm jealous of all her hair!
I love all your names. And I love the "Hello, Claire-Reese" blog title. Now THAT's original! Creepy, but very unique.
claire works perfectly, and is so cute. (along with her)
obviously i am a little biased about the name emerson, and i can assure you that the name does come well equipped with a lot of spunk.
and you have got to go with "hello claire-reese". and i'm not only saying that because the koch's are some of our closest friends. its genius.
