Sleep?

No, thank you. I'll be alright pushing a giant baby out of my body without EVER being rested. I actually quite enjoy being up for several hours every night and listening to the heavy breathing of my husband as he sleeps so soundly next to me. Oh and that feeling of being run over by a truck the next morning when I have to get up is fantastic!

Arghh!

Sorry, I'm a whiner, but really? My body really isn't even that uncomfortable. Not enough to where it should be keeping me awake anyway. I truly think Heavenly Father is just trying to prepare me for all the sleepless nights that are to come shortly. "Enjoy your sleep now" they all say. Ha!

P.S. It's 4 in the morning, so hopefully this is somewhat coherent.

I remember just laying awake all night with both of my kids. Oh - and the hip pain on those nights that I did get some sleep. I think this part falls under the "forget" phase of pregnancy. If you remembered that last month you would never go through with it.

I am so excited for you though - 1 more week!!!

Yes, the comments about enjoying your sleep now is ridiculous!!! I'd rather get much less sleep, but have it be physically comfortable sleep.
I always dreaded nighttime because everyone was so peacefully sleeping while I'm up and down the stairs, trying to occupy my mind without having to try to find a semi-comfortable position to rest or sleep.
True, you do forget everything after the baby's here. However, I seem to remember everything about pregnancy and childbirth now that I'm finished having children. Guess that's Heavenly Father's way of reminding me that I'm truly done.
I love you Rachel. Good luck next week with the delivery. I so wish I could be there. I would sometime like to experience childbirth without actually being the one to "experience" it. :)

I can totally relate to not being able to sleep at the end of pregnancy. I was anxious to have the babies by the end because even though I'd be up a lot, at least when I'd be down I'd be asleep.

And isn't it so annoying how easily our husbands can sleep? Not a thought running through their head except, "Sleep. Sleep. Sleep." And they're out. Neanderthals. (Just kidding, Tom!)

Oh, honey... I'm so sorry. I totally agree with Mindy. I cannot handle listening to Andy sleep. He doesn't snore, but he is the heaviest breather ever!!! Hang in there, it's almost over.

I am SOOO sorry Rach! I will never forget the heavenly 3 hours of sleep that I got the night I was induced, after I got my epidural, of course. And now I am up feeding, it is 5 our time, we should start calling. Good luck with everything, it won't be much longer. We are excited to meet beautiful baby girl Bjorkman number 2!

Oh....the memories you brought back. And isn't it the best when you finally get all settled in to bed with your back to your hubby and then they want you to turn around so you can talk...never realizing the huge feat that rolling around to the other side is (okay...so maybe that's only my personal experience :-)). I totally agree that it must be some cruel trick to get you used to not sleeping through the night anymore. So between that and frequent bathroom trips all night long you're already exhausted before the baby comes. I hope you at least get one good nap in there somewhere!?!

I've been out of blogger space for a week or so, so I have some catchup comments.

I'm glad the toddler bed is working out. You've got to follow your parental instincts - hopefully they'll steer you right most of the time :o). It's a very very cute bed!

I love the chubby memory lane pics - especially the ankle comparisson - what a difference huh? I noticed a major difference in my comfort level this pregnancy too just from being able to lie down frequently as opposed to sitting at a desk all day. The prego body just likes to be prone... except at night!

As one who has just barely finished the prego sleeplessness let me just say that sleep really is better when the baby is out... because now your husband can hold the baby for half the night while you sleep! I love being able to go all night without having to eat or pee. I'm still only getting 6 hours or so of sleep at night, but it really is nice to lay down and actually fall asleep quickly. Also, about the snoring husband and his alarm clock, yeah, that's one of the reasons why I spent half the night on the couch during those last weeks!

So are you starting to feel ready to just be done yet? Or are you still hoping to actually make it till Dec. 5th?

Oh my gosh! Less than one week! Enjoy your sleep before the baby comes, Rachel. I'm just kidding. I've had serious sleeping problems since I found out I was pregnant. I think most people think I'm constantly irritated because I'm pregnant, but I think it's because I get crappy sleep every night. And I love that you wrote this at 4 in the morning. Hang in there.

Do you have a recliner? I fell asleep in that often because it was so much more comfortable. Then I'd wake up around 3am and get in bed.
I'm so excited for you. Enjoy your Thanksgiving feast too. Maybe it will induce labor. Good luck with the delivery. I hope she's a healthy and sweet baby.
