Reese had her 9 month check-up yesterday and here are her stats:
Height: 27 1/4 (45th percentile)
Weight: 15 lbs 12 oz (5th percentile)
Head: 17 1/4 (50th percentile)
Face: Especially cute (1000th percentile)
I also just have to say that I have absolutely LOVED these last few months with her. This age is so much fun! I've got to admit that Reese's first few months of life scared me a little since she was such a fussy munchkin. But she is so dang fun now! Tom thinks I'm crazy because every night I tell him that I miss her and that I want her to wake up so we can hang out. I obviously enjoy and need the break, but she just cracks me up and I just love being with her!
Here are some things that I want to remember about her at this age:
- She chases the vacuum around while I'm vacuuming
- When she's getting into something she's not supposed to I come up behind her and say "hey" and she jumps a mile and turns around with such a guilty look on her face.
- I love how she tries to get everybody's attention while we're out grocery shopping. She sits in the cart smiling (with a grin that almost looks fake) like she's in some beauty pageant. We went to Costco the other day and I am not kidding when I say that EVERYBODY came up and talked to her...and she loved every minute of it! She is quite the social butterfly.
- I love the way her little booty shakes from side to side as she's army crawling (She can pop up on her knees, but she has discovered how fast she can go on her belly).
- She pulls her pacifier out of her mouth and puts it in mine and cracks up.
- She has recently started drinking from a sippy cup and for some reason thinks it's so funny. She'll be drinking out of it in the other room and I just hear her giggling away.
- She LOVES to eat. She freaks out with excitement when she sees it's time to eat and she freaks out again by crying and getting mad when it's all gone. (We've tried giving her more, but then she just spits it up.)
- We are thinking that her first word might be "yeah." Just the other day, Tom and I were clapping for her and saying "yeah" and we hear her say "Yeeee." She's repeated it several times since. We're still contemplating whether we should count it or not.
- When you bounce her on your leg and then stop, she bobs her head up and down like she's thinking "hello?! Keep going!"
- This kind of has to do with #3, but she sometimes gets so restless being at home that I'll put her in her carseat just to calm her down because it makes her think we're leaving. She must have inherited that on-the-go trait from Momoo.
That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure that everybody who has kids would tell me that the list will continually grow and change. I am seriously so in love with my Reesey-Piecey and I am excited for the years to come.

I loved all the cute things she does--you describe it so perfectly and so FUNNY! I was laughing out loud picturing her as a little beauty queen in Costco. Also just putting her in the car seat to think you're going somewhere. What a doll!! You're such a cute mom, too.
exactly, what the other marisa said!!! i'm in love with reese and i don't even know her! but her pics have so much personality and she's a doll.
She is so cute!! I just love her piggy tails!! Ha ha...where did you get those pajamas she is wearing...SO CUTE!! I want to get some for Bella.
That's really cute. I'm a little sad that my almost 4 month old weighs more than Reese, but I'll have to get over that!! She is way too cute and I hope I get to meet her in person sometime!
Good post. That reminds me that I want to make a similar post about Mr. Almost-One. Reese loves the vacuum huh? Austin hates it. When it's on he bawls his head off. I love that Reese is a social girl. Must've inherited that one from her ma! Also, is that pic of Reese on the scale legit? Is she really standing by herself? Or did you photoshop someone's arm out?
Rachel, where are you! I can't get ahold of you on your phone and your house phone isn't working. Call me.
