Our little crew. Nope, no full family costume. It was entertaining watching people try and figure out our theme. I tried to put them out of their trying-to-be-polite misery quickly though and explain.
My ever-lovin' dog lovers did their own thing and rocked it as puppy dogs. (Claire was in a borrowed costume and Reese in her dalmatian costume from 2 years ago.)
Then there was our little Cookie Crew.
Everett=Cookie Monster. Tom=Milk. And I was, of course, a Sexy Chocolate Chip Cookie. (Sure, I may have had too many layers on (as in, I'm wearing pants) to make it into the "sexy" costume category, but you've got to admit that I was one hot cookie!)I was probably the only one who was sad that we didn't do a full family costume this year, although I really didn't push too hard. Especially after Tom's speech...something about Halloween being for the kids, letting them pick...blah blah blah. I know, what a jerk.
Our Halloween events included:
Ward Trunk-or-Treat:
where the only pictures I took were of Cookie Monster hugging/attacking Elmo. He kept running up to cute little Brooke yelling, "Mo! Mo!" (Everett is to Sesame Street as Reese is to dogs.)Trick-or-Treating at Tom's Office:
And, of course, the real Trick-or-Treating:
where I was unknowingly a little biased with taking pictures of Everett.
It was just so cute watching him for his first time. If you can count it as his first time, seeing as he had no idea what was going on and really just thought we were on a hunt for doggies. We'd take him up to the door where he'd repeat, "Doggy! Doggy!" then run in their house if he saw one.
Sadly another Halloween has come and gone, and probably like most of you, we are getting sick to our stomachs with candy. Reese woke up really sad this morning when she saw that the Trick or Treat Fairy didn't make it to our house last night (aka the Trick or Treat Fairy was too tired to go to Target to get a little prize to leave in the candy's place). She should be coming tonight though and Tom's work's break room should be receiving a generous donation of candy goods. So my lunches consisting of mini-Snickers and Butterfingers is soon to be over.
Hope you all had a great one!

That little Cookie Monster is killing me. And the doggies are totally fitting for your girls.
I forgot that you do that Treat Fairy thing - that'a good idea. Usually I buy back some of my girls' candy, but this year they were more interested in the sugar than the cash. Ugh.
I love the cookies and milk theme! Did you make that cookie? It is so cute! Maybe next year I'll be a cookie and I'll make Jakob be the cookie monster. :)
I love Cookie Monster attacking Elmo. Classic. :) The Great Pumpkin usually comes to our house to leave a toy for their candy, but he forgot too. And taint no way I was going to thpe store at midnight! Sometimes it really is a little bit eery how parallel our lives are. (Minus the dog-loving kids.)
You are definitely the sexiest chocolate chip cookie I've ever seen. I love all of your costumes. And I love that your girls love doggies so much. They remind me of your animal-loving mom.
Love the pic of Cookie Monster with his hands wrapped around Elmo's face! I'm pretty sure that's a regular image on Sesame Street! I'm so glad you had a fun Halloween. I'm so glad you keep blogging. You just keep reminding me you awesome blogger you.
Your cookie turned out great! I had to send my leftover candy to Dad's office, too. We ran out of candy, so Dad bought more. He bought the "dreaded" Butterfingers(which I purposely didn't buy), and after my Halloween night binge, I bagged them up and sent them off to work with him.
