Birthday Catch-up: Everett's Whole Milk & Cookies Party

We celebrated Everett's entrance to toddler-hood with a Whole Milk and Cookies--Cookie Monster Party. From about 7 months old, he would get so excited when we'd read these Sesame Street board books to him. He'd sit on our laps looking back and forth from the book to us with a huge grin on his face. (I meant to video it, but never did.) One time, after getting back from out of town, one of his very first tasks was to crawl into his room to pull all the Sesame Street books off the shelf to flip through. Being the birthday spaz that I am, I of course jumped right on that and got super excited about what a fun theme that would be.

(The personalized birthday printables are from Etsy.)

It was super cute to see how excited he got everytime he saw Cookie.

(Oops, I forgot to mention again that no, he did not eat all that cake. We took most of it away then took a picture of the crazy-mess aftermath.)

And that, my dears, is a birthday wrap! Now begins my yearly quest to birthday simplify. Every year I tell myself that I'm not going to do so much next time, then the next birthday comes around and I just can't help myself! It's some sort of sick addiction I have. I guess there are worse places I could focus my excitement-for-projects craziness on than my kids. I'm sure it will burn out at some point, but I'll roll with it until it does!

Seriously adorable. I love all of it. And, being a bit of a birthday spaz myself I completely understand. However, our kids will look back at the pictures and love that we did so much for them. Plus, I have found as the kids get older and more involved in the process they get really excited about everything that we are planning for them. Maybe I am raising future birthday spaz's, but I don't think it's a bad thing. And, how big was that cake for Everett?! I am amazed he devoured so much. Seriously Rachel, such a cute birthday theme and execution. I love it.

Wow. I have to admit I'm amazed you put all that together for a 1-year-old. But I'm sure the girls got a huge kick out of it too. As for being a birthday spaz, my mom was one too and me and my sisters recall our birthday parties with great fondness even to this day. So keep on rolling.

Love it! So fun. And I agree - there are worse ways you could spend your time. If you have any cute ideas for a Cars birthday, pass them my way. Calvin's is tomorrow!

I love that cake! So adorable. We do a party every other year. That simplifies things a bit. Then you can still go all out and the years in between. :) Such a fun idea.

Your birthday parties are adorable, the most my poor kids will have to look back on is a cake from the grocery store!
