Wreath Banishment

I have officially been banned from putting wreaths on my door. 

This is the 3rd year in a row Mama Bird has claimed our door as her own. Last year I was mean and knocked the first few twigs down when she began to build her nest. But this year, Mama did a sneak attack while I was in Vegas for 2 weeks. I hadn't even switched to my spring wreath yet...how embarrassing. When I came back, not only was there a nest, but also her eggs.  I obviously couldn't knock it down then.  Dang you, Mama Bird!

Several weeks later....

"But they're so cute!" you say. "Why are you so mean Rachel B.?" Yes, yes they are cute. Maybe even adorable. But their poop is not.

And neither is almost getting your head knocked off every time you walk up to my house.  Mama was all sorts of crazy this year and would wait right until you were at the door then frantically fly out. She was scaring us all. One day I was walking home from Reese's bus stop when I saw the mail lady taking something up to our porch. She screamed when the bird bolted passed her head. It really could be a bit alarming. I almost put a warning sign up.

Just in case you're not convinced of their annoyingness, I better not leave the part out about her flying in our house 3 times.  She flew all around our loft, sat on a ceiling fan, sat in window seals, pooped a little.....you know, just made herself right at home. What the heck?

So yeah, moral of the story: Tom has banned me from Springtime wreaths. The end.
