I have officially been banned from putting wreaths on my door.
Several weeks later....
And neither is almost getting your head knocked off every time you walk up to my house. Mama was all sorts of crazy this year and would wait right until you were at the door then frantically fly out. She was scaring us all. One day I was walking home from Reese's bus stop when I saw the mail lady taking something up to our porch. She screamed when the bird bolted passed her head. It really could be a bit alarming. I almost put a warning sign up.
Just in case you're not convinced of their annoyingness, I better not leave the part out about her flying in our house 3 times. She flew all around our loft, sat on a ceiling fan, sat in window seals, pooped a little.....you know, just made herself right at home. What the heck?
So yeah, moral of the story: Tom has banned me from Springtime wreaths. The end.

That poop is so adorable.
yeah one time I forgot about those birds in your wreath and when I knocked one flew out at me. Oops sorry mama bird.
I died when I read this because the EXACT same thing happen to me last week!!!!!! My door was disgusting underneath!! Sorry about your wreath:) mine was also laid to rest.
Aaahhh! That's crazy. I would be honestly be terrified (birds flying at my head is a major fear of mine) I hope that everything is else is going well for you guys! I love the pictures of Everett! He is too adorable, and getting so big! We miss you guys!
Ugh I hate birds! And not just because of the poop. I think they're super creepy. Even the Tikki Room gives me the willies. I think you're a saint for letting Mama Bird stay as long as you have/did.
That's awesome....
Oh my! The same thing happened to my sister, only it is in a flower pot by her door. The mama is CRAZY. I never go to her front door any more. :)
The happened to my neighbor and she did have to put up a sign and rope off her porch so that people wouldn't be attacked. I'm sorry for your spring wreathy loss. Perhaps can you spray WD40 or something on them? If they're super slippery then mama bird can't get a nest on it, right?
But it's such a pretty wreath!
I can't imagine how I'd react if birds flew into our house, but I know I'd freak out and probably scare my kids even more.
We've got a bird's next being constructed in one of our trees this morning. I just hope one doesn't fall into the window well again this time.
Well now I don't feel so bad about having no decorations on my front door. Sounds a bit traumatizing.
