"More to Come"????

Ummm, no thanks! I didn't realize I was jinxing myself when I ended my last post with that. I haven't even written the birth story yet (which at the time seemed to have been PLENTY), but Everett for sure wins the prize for beating the most heck out of mom.

Some of this might be TMI for the blog, but it's been what my life is right now. Plain and simple, it's what's been going on! If you don't want to read about womanly issues, consider yourself warned.

Sunday night I started hemorrhaging and ended up in the ER at about 2ish in the morning. Thank goodness my mom was still in town to stay with the girls! After a pelvic exam, ultrasound, and my blood pressure dropping to 80/38 (Tom said I was pale as a ghost and my lips were white) they took me right back for a D&C. I had a ton of clotting that they obviously had to get out. The bleeding didn't stop as much as they thought it would during surgery so they kept me in the hospital for another half of the day until things looked better.

I was feeling great by the time I got to go home, but things changed later that night. I had a very difficult time sleeping and would alternate between having the chills with a temp of 102 to waking up dripping in my own sweat. In the morning I literally could hardly move my body. I just ached from head to toe. Tom had to help me get out of bed and I could hardly lift the baby. My mom and dad (who are staying in a hotel close by) spent the day here taking care of me and the kiddos. I seriously don't know how these past few days/past couple weeks would have gone without their help!

Yesterday I went back to the doctor where they told me I now have an infection. She said they could put me right back into the hospital and knock it out fast with an IV or that they could try and treat me at home with some aggressive antibiotics. As much as I have loved all my time in the hospital, I chose to go home. She told me that if things weren't better in 24 hours though that I was going to have to be hospitalized again. I am so happy to say that things are feeling quite a bit better this morning. No fever, which is great, but my body still aches a ton. I can actually get up without help though. I feel like such an old lady.

Now for the happy stuff. Baby Everett has been so absolutely fabulous and has been giving me pretty decent chunks of sleep at night (4-5 hours). He is also the best nurser! When we went into the doctor last Thursday (4 days old) he was at his birth weight. Even if he ends up not being the best baby (at the dreaded 2 week point), I'm so glad he has been so chill during all of this.

As for Reese and Claire...they have been spoiled like crazy by Momoo & Dadoo with lots of fun outings, lunches, and treats.

The Children's Museum where Curious George just happened to visit that day! Such luck! :)

Claire's first movie in the theater..."Kung Fu Panda 2"

They have definitely been tired and worn out, but after all this fun and once we get back to normal life they are going to think that Mom and Dad are quite boring.

So that's it for now. Thanks for joining me for this week's sob story! I'm not ending this post with "more to come". For now we'll just say THE END.

Ughh, that sounds miserable. I thought I had it rough when I had mastitis right when we brought Joshua home, the exhaustion from feeding two babies all night and then a fever on top of that seriously made me think I might die.

Glad you're starting to feel better. The hemoraghing thing is scary!

What in the world? So much for "quick recovery" huh? So what was worse - 2 days of labor or this fun episode? Sounds like things are on the up though, thank goodness. Ok, no one's allowed to get sick now for at least a year.

What the HECK! That is so scary/worrisome/inconvenient. SO glad your folks are there. What a lifesaver that must be. I'm glad you're feeling on the mend. Why does something like that happen? How lucky that Everett is being good to you. I hope that continues! And yay that he's a good nurser! I hope you keep feeling better!!

Im so sad to hear you had such a rough time!
I hope you feel better and better each day. Being a mum to a new born AND two others kids is hard enough without feeling like puke.
