This was the first year that Santa and his reindeer were given the memo to deliver our presents to our very own house for Christmas morning! Tom and I have loved Christmas mornings at our parents' homes, but we decided that it was time to start doing our own little family's thing. And might I say, that is was absolutely wonderful!

I got a kick out of Tom's wrapping job on my present. I don't think the picture does it justice.

The morning was so relaxing and low key. The afternoon...not so relaxing. After Claire's nap we were off on a plane to Vegas! Not exactly surprising, but flights are MUCH cheaper on Christmas day. More to come! I know, the anticipation of the conclusion of our Christmas holiday is killing you!

I've lobbied for Christmas at home the past two years, but Will's against it. This year as we were crawling into bed on Christmas Eve (at Grandma's) Will says to me "why didn't we do this at home?" So this year is the year. I'm glad you guys got to start doing your own thing. Can't wait to see the rest of your Christmas. What was in the polka dot present??
Love the shoes for Claire. Ruthie got a pair of shoes like that too and I was surprised how much she loved to wear them.
Your Christmas does look nice and peaceful. That's how we felt doing it at home this year too. I was a bit worried my kids would notice a major drop in loot between Christmas at grandmas and Christmas at home, but they didn't care. Plus, grandma made up for it when they visited in the afternoon.
Boy, thinking about it I'm already getting excited for Christmas again!
I'm so impressed with your motivation to catch up on the blog. Hope you're feeling good and getting ready for that little guy. We have been thinking about you guys.
Your girls are so cute with all their princess stuff. It was the year of the pillow pets at our house, too, and Jocey got the unicorn just like Reese.
Two Christmases ago we flew out the day after Christmas. That was really hard because everyone spent the day enjoying all their presents and I spent the day stressing about our trip. So I said I'm never going to do that again and we stayed here last year. But now the memory has faded and I'm reconsidering for next year and thinking about doing Disney? Maybe your upcoming blog post will help me remember how nice it was to be home this year.
I love having Christmas News in May ;-)
and I wrap presents just like Tom, actually I think he does it alot better than me. I use to blame the kids but now they tell people I am the one who wrapped it!
Kevin likes to make breakfast burritos too. Don't you love having a husband who enjoys cooking? I sure do. I'm glad you had a nice Christmas at home. I want to know what was in the polka dot wrapping too!
I like the milk idea, something healthy to tide them over before breakfast. I'll have to try it next year, oh wait, this year. ;)
