Well, our house didn't explode. Instead, we were just greeted with the craziest hail storm I have seen in my life! Right as I was finishing that last post, it all started.
That's not snow, my dears. It's all hail.
The damage....
2 broken windows
A bucket carrying some soil we were putting in our garden. I am now grateful that we hadn't finished planting.
A piece of tile that fell from our roof. Our neighborhood in particular seems to have gotten slammed. Basements were flooded, windows shattered, tile roofs are pretty damaged, torn window screens, and every bit of green on the trees is gone. We had quite a few news vans in our neighborhood and every roofing company known to man was driving up and down our streets with pamphlets and cards trying to get everybody's business. An insurance adjuster should be out either today or tomorrow to check out all the damage on our house. I should be more upset, but all I can do is laugh at this point. "Over 300 days of sunshine!" HA! It definitely could have been worse. We're all safe, right? What a week!
I'm still curious to know your thoughts on technology below.

HOLY CRAP! That is crazy!
Wow! I can't believe it was that much worse just a few blocks away! We have very little damage and NO broken windows! Do you need anything?? I'm really hoping we don't get round 2 today! Oh and about technology....I am looking forward to the suggestions you get for limiting time spent...I need to cut back too! I have heard some people only get on the computer once a day...that might work for me...??
No way!!!! That is insane! I cannot believe how huge that hail was and all the damage. Ready to move next door to me now :D?
This is insane. I am glad I don't live there right now. It makes all of our bad weather look awesome!
Oh my goodness! If it didn't cause damage, I would say that's awesome! Never actually seen golf ball sized hail...
You are such a good sport Rachel! At this point I think I would be cursing on my blog:) I have seen some big hail in Idaho but, holy cow! I can't believe your garbage can lid! Next week must have some great things in store for you. . . maybe you'll win the lottery or something!
What the hail is right! If you didn't post pictures I'm not sure I would believe it did that much damage. I'm so sorry you have MORE stuff to deal with. When it rains at your house it pours... or just hails the size of a freakin' golf ball. I will have to show this to Andy. Glad no one got hurt. And good luck with repairs.
Holy Cow! That is the hail storms you hear about and see on the news. Wow that is crazy! I can't believe how big they were. Sorry to hear you've had one of those months. I guess that is why they recommend having that emergency load of cash for months where everything needs to be replaced. Things can only look brighter. Hopefully including some days of sunshine!
we had a hail storm like this about a year ago. it was crazy. the cars that were sitting outside were SO damaged. We had a friend whose car was totalled because of the storm! It was such a crazy storm. Glad you are safe though.
WOW.
Thank goodness you weren't caught in it! I can't even imagine!
Rachel! I'm so glad you posted on this. I've been meaning to call you because Dave and I saw this on the news and we were freaking out. I hope you are all okay!! Crazy stuff.
I'm sorry, Rachel. What a mess! I'm glad your insurance covers that stuff.
Wow great pics of the hail but what a pain about the damage to your house. I hope it all gets repaired quickly.
CRAZY!!!
I totally watch the Bachelorette! Who is the guy that looks like Kevin?
I always thought of Colorado as my perfect place to settle down...maybe not. That's CRAZY!
