The Price of Beauty

A few weeks ago I was watching American Idol, and as Mullet Boy (aka Alex Lambert) came on

I couldn't help but wonder why he was suddenly looking so familiar to me.
Where had I seen him before?

Aww, right, my daughter. Oops.

I had fallen into the "I'm so excited that there's finally some length that I didn't notice it was in the shape of a mullet" trap.

My hack job on a 5 month old Reese and vow to never cut my own children's hair again meant only one thing....

Randi to the rescue!

Claire, on the other hand, was apparently not quite ready to let go of her mullet curls.

$5 bucks and lots of tears later and Claire was lookin' all sassified.

I didn't get a good picture of the back but it's kind of stacked. So cute!

This next picture shows just how good Randi is. Claire was still traumatized and wouldn't let me put her down and Reese wasn't cooperating for her haircut either so I had to hold them both. And Randi still did a great job!

As we were walking out to our car, Reese said to me, "Haircuts are scary!" (and this was like her 6th(?) one by Randi.)
Awww....what we women go through for beauty!

P.S. Mullet and all, Alex Lambert sooooo should not have gone home!

Love it....very cute.

We are still working on growing out Jocey's mullett from when she was a baby. The girls just got haircuts last week and Jocey was dissapointed that the lady couldn't give her "hair down to her knees."

I fear I may be falling into the same trap with Josie. Claire's hair is so cute though! She is one gorgeous kid!

Very very cute! It's so hard to let those baby curls go. I love having my hair done - it's the ultimate pampering for me. Someday Reese won't think they're so scary!

These pics are great ... especially the one with the little tear rolling down the cheek!
My little girl kept cutting all her hair off EVERYTIME it got to a decent length... so maybe it’s a good thing for your little girls to be scared of the scissors.
Thanks for sharing.

So sassified! I think she looks so cute and you are such a brave mom. I still don't have the heart to cut Katie's hair so she still has one strand of hair slightly longer than the rest. (I know it's silly.)

It makes me kind of laugh when the kids have melt downs. I have a picture of Sammy crying her eyes out when she had bangs cut for the first time. She cried for a long time and said, "I look horrible!" And even now when it's been about a year since the change she gets a little upset with me for making my beautician do it. Drama!!!

i think most people look better mullet free. however, claire looks cute even with hers! my little avery hates a haircut. she'll soon learn that is one of life's little pleasures!

I wish I had a Randi. Ruthie's mullet is actually starting to get to me. I wonder how long I can hold out...

I really never knew haircuts were so traumatic...well, at least not good haircuts. That's hillarious!
