Saturday night Tom and Reese went on their first official daddy-daughter date. And let me tell you, this was a much needed date! There was about a 2 week stretch where Tom was either out of town or working until after Reese's bedtime. 2 straight weeks without much daddy time was apparently too much for Reese to handle---she's been downright mean to him!
So Tom arranged a night out on the town for the two of them with the hopes of getting back into her good graces. I knew early on that the date was going to be a success when I overheard them talking about their date plans and Reese busted out with, "And I won't push you!" She's not much of a pusher, nor do I recall her ever pushing Tom, but lately in her mind, pushing is the ultimate worst thing you can do to somebody. (A quick example: A few weeks ago I was out raking leaves and Reese was having a blast jumping in them. When I told her it was time to put them in bags because the garbage man was on his way, she protested with, "The garbage man comes and I push him! Then he drives away!")
Okay, onto the details of the date. They both got all spruced up then headed out for a night to remember....

"Pictures? Hmmm....Mommy, put you up to this for the blog, didn't she?"
Tom said she LOVED it and was smiling from ear to ear and clapping like crazy! It turned out to be a super short play (only 35 minutes!), but neither of them seemed to care one bit. They had a great time!As I tucked Reese into bed that night she couldn't seem to shut her brain off...."the puppies said 'ruff, ruff, ruff' and the girl sang and........." And then of course, the most important detail, "And Daddy didn't push me!" Success!

That is way too cute! I cannot get over how big Reese is looking. I've been (obviously) absent from the blogging world and missing it. So I won't let this long of a stretch go by again without updating or checking blogs!!!
Adorable!!! And I am so glad that there was no pushing :)
Oops, that above comment was me...
Reese is hillarious. I'm so glad she didn't push Tom. Sounds like such a fun night.
This is totally random, but has Reese always had her ears pierced? I just noticed it in these pictures. I asked Kate if she wants her ears pierced but she is too afraid of it. She wanted me to put some earrings in my ears one time (I usually don't wear them) and she's been grossed out since!
I bet is so glad she didn't push him, that would have been awful!!! LOL! Love Daddy Daughter dates!! Such great memories!!
So cute, and I'm impressed that Tom even toted along the camera for good measure. I have to say I'm impressed that you can maintain sanity after 2 Tom-less weeks! We can't even go two days in a row w/o some quality daddy time--we're lightweights! What did you and Claire do while they were away?
Too funny. "Mommy put you up to this" Ha ha! Is Tom treating you to a fancy dinner and puppy date tomorrow night?
I love it! I need to get on Andy about having daddy-daughter dates with our girls. He's never had one with any of them. So cute!
I had to comment on the earrings, too. I love that you let Reese get them done. I asked Andy the other day what he would do if I took Ashley to get hers done without him knowing... it just might end our marriage. Wish me luck for Christmas next year.
I love that they went on a daddy/daughter date. I can't wait for Justin to take Josie on dates! I'm glad he's back in her good graces!
This is so adorable. I can't wait until Travis can have the same experience with our daughter. Reese is so gorgeous. Are we still doing an arranged marriage? Gavin and her are going to be so cute together!
what a cute idea. i think every kid needs a little one on one time with their dad - makes it better when it's at mcdonalds!
How cute. I can only imagine how lucky she felt. Averie went through the same thing with her dad. She didn't see him much and she would be so mean to him all the time. Now its better because she is older and she just tells him what she wants.. etc. But I was beginning to think something was wrong. I mean who doesn't love their dad! Glad the date was a success.
So I just looked at your Family Pictures. They turned out really great. You all look so adorable. Rachel you know why I like you so much....... It's because you are genuine. Keep being who you are.
This is so funny Rachel. I was just starting to think, "wait, didn't she say this was a daddy/daughter date? Did Rachel the photographer tag along, too?" Tell Tom I'm super impressed with the photography. Pictures are so well centered and clear, and it must be in part due to that fancy new camera! :)
