to be Gothic.
This morning while I was in the shower Reese apparently decided she needed to get her nails all decked out for Halloween. Black permanent marker definitely did the trick. It also did a lovely trick on my kitchen table.
AHHHHHH!!!
She then ran up to me holding this paper and said, "Look momma, I made this for you!" Awww, pure permanent marker beauty. How could I stay mad?

Aren't kids great. When Kessa was 3 and James was just a few months old I left them both in the care of their father so I could attend a church meeting. While I was gone Michael fell asleep on the couch and Kessa decided James just wasn't colorful enough. When I got home there was very little skin left - he was head to toe multi-colored!!!
I'm gonna have to remember that. We've had many a moment like this. I guess at least she didnt do this on Saturday. My kids are so good at coloring all over themselves (esp hands and face--things that can't be covered up) just in time for church on Sunday. Dont they know I need a full week to exfoliate and scrub their skin off in time for church? :)
Wow...brings back memories. However ours wasn't permanent marker and it DIDN"T come off!!! Luckily we were in army housing and they tore the place down after we moved out! Your little Reese is so adorable! I love the black fingernails (and more!) :) What a creative little mind she has to do that!
Cute. She does love you a lot! I'll remember the tip for sure. (PS. Did you ever see that article about not letting your kids play with a Magic Eraser pen? It can cause 2nd degree chemical burns on skin.)
i'm in the process of trying to get all of the crayon off my walls right now, but the marker looks a little worse. glad it came off of your table. that probably wouldn't have made me too happy either. love that she painted her nails though with a marker. and black nails are totally in right now. my kids would have drawn on eachothers faces so at least reese kept hers a little more contained!
Is it rude of me to laugh? I love the chubby little hand dimples. :)
Seriously you made it until she was 3!! You lucky lady!! OH and the black is so "In" right now, you have yourself a fashion queen on your hands!! :)
I've got to try that toothpaste/baking soda thing - there has been sharpie on my kitchen table for about a month. I didn't even bother trying to get it out (the table is pretty trashed) but maybe I'll give it a try.
Certainly a great look for Halloween! Thanks for the cleaning tip too...especially since we have the same table, now I know it will work!
I'm so impressed that you took pictures instead of getting mad. I'm not so sure that I would have that kind of self-control. You're a great momma.
what are the chances? The same exact thing happened today with Liam and the coffee table and..dun dun dun.. a black Sharpie! grr...thanks for the tip, tho, I'm off to try it!
Ooh, thanks for the hot tip! I know how frustrating it can be when your kid gets a hold of those stinkin' permanent markers. I'm glad you were able to get it off!
pencil eraser. It will rub out the marks on your kitchen table.
The mention of the BYU Heritage Halls cleaning checks made me throw up a little in my mouth.
mine look about the same...what was I thinking? at least she's young enough to pull it off!
Love the nails and the tip. Good to know. The other day Weston painted with water colors all over his face the table and his clothes. Not permanent but still a big mess. Kids are so great.
