Love Is In the Air!

Well, it's at least in the air surrounding my neighbor's house and mine. Nope, I'm not in love with my neighbor...but Reese is! She officially has her first non-forced-upon-by-her-parents-crush, and it's on our next door neighbor boy, Gunnison. Sure, she's had a few "boyfriends" here and there and has some possible arranged marriage deals in the works, but she truly, truly likes this little boy all on her own.

He is pretty darn cute!

Tom and I first knew this crush was serious a couple weeks ago when we told Reese we needed to go get ready because we were going over to Gunnar's house. Her eyes got huge with excitement and she rambled off some crazy sentence where the only distinguishable word was "pretty." She then turned and ran out of the room. Tom and I looked at each other both puzzled and amused and asked, "Did she just say 'pretty'?" Sure enough, a minute later she ran back into the room holding one of her fanciest church dresses wanting us to put it on her. She wanted to get all dolled up for Gunnar! She even started going through my jewelry box. We settled on one of her more casual dresses, then I humored her and let her pick a necklace and earrings to wear so she could look sassy for her boyfriend.

Lookin' good Reesers!

Already playing the damsel in distress and needing some "help" with her notebook.

I'm pretty sure she was telling her daddy off in this picture. Apparently she wanted to be left alone with her boy.

One other funny moment regarding this little crush was from just a few nights ago when I was expecting Gunnar and his mom, Delta, to be coming by. When the doorbell rang I told Reese who it was, then got up to let them in. I was quickly put in my place when she ran passed me with her hand up yelling, "Noooo! Stop! I got it!"

And if you're wondering how little Gunnar feels about my daughter...
let's just say that when she went to drop off his valentine yesterday...

this is how she was greeted.

I hope your Valentine's Day was just as sweet as Reese's...

and a tad bit more romantic than ours. ;)

I can not believe how grown up Reese is looking. She's a looker...no wonder she's already bringing in flowers from the guys.

very cute!! We were in the same boat as you except our v-day dinner came from Papa Johns. However, Brent and I were able to sit and relax and enjoy each other's company while watching a movie. And in my opinion, that's a successful v-day!

Oh I am so intriqued by the taco bag . . . must hear that story. I can't get over Reese's golden locks. She is such a beauty. I wish I had something worth blogging about - I feel boring lately. Oh but I have been craving that chocolate covered popcorn your mom sells at her store. Like, I very nearly headed to Vegas on Saturday to get my hands on some. I need an intervention.

Clayton has been telling us lately that he has a 'girlfriend'. It's an eight year old girl in the primary. I feel like he is way too young for that!! Reese is so funny though that she wanted to get all dolled up for her playdate! What a cutie!

Oh my gosh! That is too cute! I'm glad you documented so later... if they actually dated you have a little something to hold over their heads. That is so sweet that he gave her a rose. I'm actually jealous... I didn't even get one from my own husband! Reese is so darling!

This is so dang cute! Don't worry I won't show Gavin. I know we still have an arranged marriage for the two. Give Reese a big hug from us. We miss her!

Great story. I hope Reese doesn't give up on those arranged marriage prospects all together though. In another 18 years a cute LDS boy from Utah might be more to her liking ;o). Your daughter sure is a cutie! No wonder Gunnar is smitten too.

I'm sorry, but that is so adorable. Especially the picture of Reese telling Tom off. They just grow up faster than we did.
