Good news- Claire's thrush is FINALLY gone.
Bad news- She has RSV instead.
Good news- We caught it super early and can hopefully knock it out quickly with albuterol treatments.
Bad news- We have to do albuterol treatments. Despite popular belief, babies don't like scary plastic chickens in their faces.
Good news- I'm an old pro at giving albuterol treatments.
Bad news- I'm an old pro because this is my 3rd year in a row doing them. 3 RSV seasons as a mom and 3 positive RSV test results. Next year I'm locking myself and the girls in the house for 3 months!
Good news- Even with her sad puffy red eyes, she still smiles at us between her nasty coughs. She was even cooing and smiling at the doctor yesterday morning.
Bad news- I'm definitely not as smiley because I'm pretty concerned about my little one and also not thrilled about the idea of us all being stuck in the house for the next week or so.
Good news- Maybe being stuck in the house will give me the chance to catch up on blogging. Maybe.
Bad news- It kind of "sucks to be the Bjorkmans" again.
Good news- I love my family, and really, even with all of Claire's little "issues" lately, it's still pretty dang good to be a Bjorkman! I think she might even agree.

I'm so sorry. I hope she gets better soon. Love you guys!
Darn, that stinks...I have been there before; only with Ian but we had a hospital stay. That is nice that you caught it so soon! Take care! Oh - and thanks for your comments...I had fun making that header - felt like I was a kid in 1st grade again :)
Oh, I am SOOO sorry! RSV is my biggest fear when I have little babies. I'm so glad you caught it early and I hope she gets over it quickly.
Oh yes, the pink eyes and nose make the plastic mask FUN! Dang what are the odds of rsv 3x in 3 years?? That seriously stinks. For all of you. Hope you can usher it on out the door quickly.
I'm sooo sorry Rachel! I can't believe your luck. I hope that it all clears up soon! I love the name of your blog - super cute!
I'm always scared about my kids getting RSV. Since I work at the hospital, I usually only hear about the worst case scenarios. It makes me so paranoid! I'm so glad that you caught this early! It really sucks that you've had to deal with it 3 times! Best of luck and I hope little Claire gets well real soon!
Oh my gosh! Poor little thing! It is so hard when they get sick cause you just wish you could take it on for them! Hope she heals fast!
Poor thing, and poor mom, too. Savannah was home from school today and it about killed me to not be able to go do all the things I had planned.
Ahh darn it. That's crappy. I know how you feel about being stuck in the house with sick kids. Glad none of mine got RSV though. That can be super scary. But, Drake was sick, then Ava, then Drake, and just as I thought he was better he gets an ear infection. Ughh. I think we're finally past it all now. Let's cross our fingers! Hope Claire feels better fast!
I'm so sorry to hear this, Rachel. Poor Claire. And three years in a row? Sounds like you've had your fill of RSV. I also hope that you can get rid of this soon.
Ok so I have a couple of questions for you:
1) What are the symptoms of RSV? How did you know to bring her in?? I am seriously paranoid about Amelia getting this - obviously...
2) What happened when Reese was born? You said it was horrible - I had no idea........and I am SO glad Claire's birth was better.
I didn't realize Reese had been an RSV baby (or I forgot). Love the scary plastic oxygen chicken. Yikes! Is that really supposed to help kids deal with it better?
bless your heart. i guess giving breathing treatments isn't something you want to be an old pro at. hope things start to look better soon.
and great job on the good news/bad news. I thought it was very clever!
Poor baby! I don't think there is ever an age where having a plastic chicken stuck to your face is a fun thing. I'm glad you were able to catch it early though!
Oh Rachel, I am SO sorry! I'm so glad you caught it early though - poor baby!!
I'm glad to hear that Claire is on the mend. I've been completely paranoid about RSV. And reading your post has only made me moreso. I'm especially nervous since Riley has a cough and a runny nose. So what are the early signs that I should be watching for?
