Smooth Operator

=Tom

Tom pulled off his first ever romantic get-away this past weekend. He surprised me for our anniversary and took me (without Reese of course) to Breckenridge, Colorado for a little afternoon/overnight stay.

Breckenridge is an older, but super nice little resort town a little less than 2 hours away. For any "Bachelor" fans out there, it's the same town Jesse (DeAnna's boy) is from. Tom swore he saw Jesse at least 5 different times . :)

A small section of some of its cutesie little shops.

We seriously had the best time walking up and down Breckenridge's downtown and just talking and eating. I must have said at least 30 times, "I LOVE this! This is so much fun!" It was just so romantic and so so nice to have no time constraints and to just be with my husband! And to have it all arranged by him too!

We first stopped for appetizers during this fancy restaurant's 2 for 1 happy hour. I was all excited about the calamari until I saw it. I had only ever had breaded calamari before, but this was way too real looking for me to eat!

(My camera is coming today so this should be the end of these lovely camera phone pictures.)

We then literally walked around for 2 hours deciding on a place for dinner. And it didn't matter...because we had no little person to get back to! Just in case I haven't made myself clear yet, the whole little getaway was perfect! :)
I love my Smooth Operator!

Oh man how fun!! What a guy! I think I am going to have to strategically leave this page up on my computer until Will sees it. :)

Tom is the "smoothest operator" I know... WOW! I am so glad you guys got away. I love Brek, it's such a great place. I always thought it would be such a fun place for pictures! GO TOM... you are definitely on Rachel's good side at least for the next week.

That sounds like such a fun day. We went through Breckenridge on one of our trips to Utah this year and just loved it. And how great to have your hubby plan it for you. That just makes it extra nice

That's so awesome he planned it all on his own. Big points for Tom!! My friend went there on her honeymoon. It sounds so cute.

My first thought was...Breckenridge--go Jesse! I'm so glad that Tom was able to see him 5 times--did he get an autograph?!?

I'm so glad you guys got to get away. I'm so impressed, Tom. Isn't it fun to just get away and have no constraints and little people's bedtimes to follow, etc. What a fun reprieve before you have another little one, too. Yay, tom! And yay for Jesse :-)...and Breckenridge!

p.s.--I am so loving this song. I for sure will NOT love you six hours from now when it's still stuck in my head :-(

Way to go "Smooth Operator!"
These little getaways are the best- they kinda make you feel like a newly wed all over again!

I didn't notice this song was playing until I got to the end of your post. I just tuned it out, I guess. It's a nice touch. Way to go, Tom!

So much fun! How nice that you got some time alone without Reese. Isn't that two days in like a month for you? Happy Anniversary again and that sounds like the perfect getaway.

When I first read this I thought you said "with Reese of course" and I was thinking - 'not so smooth'. But once I realized you were child-free I was impressed. Finding a little person overnight sitter can be the best anniversary gift of all!

What a great hubby! That looks like such a fun vacation! Tom really IS a smooth operator! (I don't think I could have eaten that calamari either.)

Jake and I have had one child free weekend since having babies. I agree that it is so incredibly fun and romantic. I can't wait to enjoy more, but sigh, I guess I'll have to wait! I'm glad you guys had fun! I'm glad our new babies will get some bonding time in Hawaii next spring.

how FUN and way to go Tom - major points! I think I need to have Ryan sit next to Tom in EQ...maybe something will rub off on him. We have free flight benefits and we have never been anywhere together!

Tom is THE MAN! Taylor would be smooth enough to suggest the idea and get a place to stay, but the fact that Tom found someone to watch Reese is probably the best part of all! My husband is smooth, but not THAT smooth. (I'll deny this posted comment if it is EVER brought up around him ;) so don't even think about it!)
