Tom had this whole week off from work and it has been heaven! Typically after a crazy work week Reese takes a long while to warm back up to him and is pretty clingy to me. Tom always refers to Reese and me as "the buddies" and says that it's an exclusive club that he is not a part of. But after this week I think it's safe to say that I've been bumped out of the "the buddies" club and have been replaced by Tom. Daddy is just much more fun than boring old mom. In the morning when I'd get her out of her crib she would immediately run for Tom and squeel and wave her arms around because she was so excited to see him. I love their relationship! Tom adores her and she adores him right back.

That is way too cute! I love the description of tom's where you and Reese are an exclusive club. That's so how Kelsey was just about until she was 2 or 2 1/2 and then Bret became the fun, cool one. I love watching little girls and their daddies. It's just too sweet!
Dads are the coolest. Just wait though. Once she hits junior high you'll both be replaced with some smooth-talking 13-year-old boy.
Isn't it nice to get some "me" time when daddy takes over? I'm sure you're happy to relinquish the buddy club for a few days.
Yay for vacation time after sucky overtime! Home the summer is better. Do they give Tom the option of working 4 10s? They did with us one year and I loved it. I'm hoping we can do it again this year.
Sorry to hear you've been kicked out of the buddies club - But how great to have some time to yourself!! Congratulations on baby #2 on the way! If he or she is anywhere as beautiful as Reese, watch out!! You'll have your hands full! :) She's adorable.
Dads just seem to be a lot funner than moms. Kevin has my kids screaming and laughing every day after he gets home from work. They never do that for me. I think kids know dad is the fun one, but whenever they're hurt or sad, they always come back to mom.
How great. I know what you are talking about. Michael would go days without seeing the kids because of his work schedule and then about a month ago he started taking the mornings off. The kids (and their mom!) just love and it has made for more happy moments at home.

We are going through the same thing here. Brady only says Daddy and not Mama anymore. It's not that he thinks my name is Daddy either. He's really going to have a hard time when Cory goes to work.
I'm so glad to hear you get some nice bonding time with Tom! I always think it's the greatest when Dads finally get in the picture. Clara did NOT like Dave until about 6 months ago when I had him give her a new baby spoon (she has a baby spoon fettish for some reason). Now, she announces "this is my happy spoon that Dad gave to me" whenever we get it out and has LOVED him ever since. It cracks me up seeing what gets to them sometimes. Enjoy your family time!
What can I say Tom is a pretty cool guy. I think I am liking both sides of him "church Tom" and "hang out Tom". I don't blame Reese at all. Although her mom is cool too! Have a great day! Love you guts.
