Peter Pan Ride (the best ride at Disneyland in my opinion)
And Dumbo...
the best ride at Disneyland in Reese's opinion. She was hysterical when we took her off the ride and also when we took her off the picture taking Dumbo.
Overall Reese was having a pretty hard day because of some lack of sleep issues and really didn't smile much...until Uncle Michael showed up. She LOVES him. She smiles and laughs like crazy whenever he is around. It's so cute to watch them together.
Michael, Me, Adam, and Reese
Reese actually did really well with all the characters. She pet Buzz Light Year's Arm and really wasn't scared of Mickey. Not bad for a first timer. Come to think of it, she wasn't really scared of anything. She didn't even bat an eye when we went on the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribean, or the scariest ride at Disneyland...Snow White. Seriously, there's a reason there's never a line for that ride!
The next day with Nora and Charlie at California Adventure. It makes me laugh when I see the seat belt in this picture because the ride honestly could not have been going any faster than 2 mph.
All in all we had a fun time. It was definitely on the early end to take Reese, but the company was fun. And I have to give a huge shout-out to Hannah for being the best sport in the whole world! Poor girl wasn't able to go on too many fun rides because of all the little kids, the boring pregnant lady who wasn't allowed to ride much, and also because there were a bunch of roller-coaster scaredy cats in the group. And she didn't even once act annoyed. I told her I'd go with her next year and ride all the free-fall/roller-coasters rides we can handle. :)
Women's Conference
One of the biggest highlights was getting to hear our prophet Thomas S. Monson speak to us Friday afternoon. There is something just so extra special about being in the same room with a prophet of God. This picture is definitely not the greatest, but the subject is still pretty neat.
I also got to see my long time buddy Cynthia and her family. Cynthia was soooo awesome to watch Reese for me the entire Friday so I could attend classes. Friday night we went out to the ever so amazing Cafe-Rio where I completely gorged myself. I always think it's funny that no matter how long we go without seeing each other it's always like we just saw each other yesterday and we can talk forever.
Cynthia captured these hilarious shots of Reese during the day that I had to steal from her blog.
Momoo Sherie and Reese got to do quite a bit of bonding on our little adventure. Reese said her first official "momoo" during this trip and would cry whenever momoo would get out of the car to run into the gas station or store.
Whew! That was a really long week and a really long post. I'm ready for a nap.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Somebody was awfully quiet while I was writing this post. I won't mention any names, but this little person went upstairs and got into my make-up bag and decided she needed a little concealer.
I'm jealous of all that girl time. And really, Disneyland is SO much more fun when you have kids with you. I can't wait until we have kids and can take them to Disneyland. And to all the random "kid only" areas of the park I never think about. How fun.
Man I was hoping I would be the first to comment. As I was posting, I noticed on my other brouser that someone had a new post. When I saw it was you, I thought, "Maybe I'll be the first to comment." I guess second isn't bad.
What a fun week. I love Peter Pan, even though we got stuck on it last time we went on it. Rebecca also loves Dumbo. She claims Small World is her favorite, but whenever we get to Disneyland, Dumbo is all she wants to do. Isn't it sad that Small World is closed right now?!
I agree about being in the same room as the Prophet. I've had a couple of experiences with that, and they are some of my favorite experiences. They were both with President Hinckley. I would love to hear President Monson in person.
I'm glad you had such a good week. And don't overdo it. Being pregnant means that you get to take it easy.
By the way - is Michael single? My sister-in-law is newly single, and she is a hairdresser. I think he would love her. She's the one on my blog who is singing Ingrid Michaelson with Rebecca.
I love all the pictures. It looks like you had a really good time!
I have been looking on your blog every day to see if you have posted something new.
We sure do miss you guys and especially Reese. That is one dang cute picture of her in the glasses. I love it. I think you should frame that one!
That's awesome that you got to go to Disneyland. Sounds like you had a great time.
I am glad to hear that you had a fun time at the blog party. Aren't you glad that you broke down and went? What a great experience to meet people that have the same interest as you.
You need to call me or better yet I should call you. Give that Reese a big kiss from Travis, Gavin and Holls. Love you guts.
It really WOULD be sad if you stopped blogging. I hope your lack of blogging motivation can be blamed on the pregnancy. Love all the pics.
i was wondering where you went - i should have known it was to the happiest place on earth!! I love all the pictures and i'm glad reese enjoyed it so much. Gives me hope for our kids since we are hoping to hit Disneyworld at Christmastime with my family.
And it's never a good sign when it gets too quiet in the house. You know the kids are always into something they shouldn't be!!
What a little sneak she is!! But when she is so cute you can't be mad at her for too long!!! How cute though
Looks and sounds like you had a great trip...Reese is adorable!!!
I wish I would have known that you were there for WC cause we go every year!!! I have been going on and off for about 10 years or so and I was there last week! I didn't get to go to classes but my sister and Mom were there and I was just visiting with friends while I was in the area! DANG too bad! Well I am so glad that you got to go, it really is something I look forward to doing every year! Maybe next year we can meet up there?!
Good job on getting the long post up Rach. I'm glad Disneyland had some redeeming moments despite the lack of sleep. It's very important to always have positive feelings about Disneyland. And yeah, we did do pretty good about an early bedtime. Had I known it was the only day though I don't think you would've gotten off the hook so easily!
how fun! ry thinks Peter Pan is the best ride too. but I'm never willing to stand in line for it. I probably will be with kids though when the Matterhorn is not an option :)
I love, love, love this post! Disneyland!!! That's too fun. Bret's there right now as we speak on business....I sure wish we were there too :-). I laughed about the seat belt for the 2 mph ride. Isn't is a sad world when they have to cover themselves from being sued over someone falling out of a 2 mph ride???
I think that's so cool that you went to women's conference with your blogger friends. How did you hook up with so many of them to coordinate it? I think that's awesome! Julie Blodgett from my old ward at BYU was in that picture. She's so nice!
I laughed so hard at the picture of Reese in your makeup. Thus begins or continues girls wanting to do everything that their mom does, right? She is just too cute!!!
You had such a fun and full week! Disneyland is so much fun with kids. I can't wait to take ours there sometime soon.
Blogapalooza looked like a blast! I'm so bummed I missed it, but maybe next year. I'm glad you had a great time!
Hi, my name is Amber (I'm Heidi's sister-in-law -- Anthony's sister), and I've been reading your blog for a while now. I love your blog. Your daughter is so cute and the stories you tell are so funny. I finally decided I should tell you that I've been reading your blog (lurking I guess they call it) and I hope you don't mind. So many times I've wanted to comment, but I was scared since you didn't know me. So I'm coming clean. I promise I'm a decent person (you can ask Heidi...she'd vouch for me). I hope you don't think I'm weird, and I hope you'll let me keep reading your blog. Plus, I think you and your husband seem like super cool people, and if we were in the same ward, I think we'd be friends...or at least I'd hope we'd be friends. By the way, if you want to check out our blog, feel free to do so (it's on Heidi's page, the "Molloy" link). Ours isn't quite as entertaining, but I'm working on making it better.
My blogging mojo ebbs and flows. It's ebbing right now.
I told Will the exact same thing when I got home from dinner - it doesn't matter how long it's been between visits, I always feel like we pick up right where we left off. Still, we must figure out how to minimize the time between visits.
yummmmm...Cafe Rio! Just looking at your leftovers makes my mouth water! Looks like you had so much fun - love your pictures! Especially the last one of Reese! What a lil stinker!
First of all, that concealer is totally your color Reese! I am so jealous of your fun trips- hope you are feeling well:)
I think that Reese has put been on way more vacations than I ever have...looks like you guys had a blast!! Hey I also totally stole your idea on what you did for Tom's b-day and used it for Jason...I didn't admit to him that it wasn't my original idea though- our little secret!!
I'm so glad you busted your booty to get to BP because really, you were one of my favs.
Darling girl, Reese. Love her hair.
Marylin, we'll definitely have to coordinate next year.
Julie, isn't that sad to look at the color difference of my make-up on Reese's face. My daughter is waaaaay tanner than her albino parents.
Chelsea, totally glad you used the b-day thing for Jason. I probably stole the idea from somebody myself. I can't remember things these days. And yes, Reese has been ALL over the place. I'm trying to take as much advantage of it as I can until she turns 2 and we have to start paying for her plane flight. She will definitely be the most well travelled out of any of my children.
Wow!!! You DID do a lot! Unfortunately, the more kids you add, the slower your blogging becomes. Not that you won't love it the same, just that you'll want to be available to more people right there in front of you and you won't mind the online absense for the exchange. The exchange for real live conversations w/ your kids will be priceless (even though it's tough not having the time to record everything...that's what I wish I had time for...it's hard to capture & record everything you want to remember...I'm sure you feel the same way already). I'm so happy you had a good time in CA & UT, and that you connected with so many great people in your life. Happy Mother's Day, Rachel!!! You're such a super mom.
What a great trip. Boy, you're always going somewhere- LUCKY!!! And CUTE pictures too!
What an awsome week!! I love Disneyland, especially going with first timers. It the best!! I havent ever been able to make to Womens Conference! What a wonderful experience that must have been. Maybe next year will be the year that I will be able to go!
What a fun trip. Would you mind if I tagged along with you all next time? And I am totally craving Cafe Rio now. We will be heading to Utah in July and I have already told Jason we need to make a stop there!!
Rachel, I LOVE your blog! Cute pictures of Disneyland, how fun is that???
I love the pictures of you and cynthia, that's cool that you could get together! I should try that women's conference sometime..looks great!
Reese is such a doll even without her make-up on!
This whole post was really cute, but my favorite part is the last picture! I love cute little Reesie! It cracks me up that she did that!
I actually read you blog a long time ago when you first posted this, but am just now commenting (I was making dinner last time and didn't have time to comment). Even if you are not feeling that well and up to blogging, at least you are still going on fun trips and having quality time with Reese. She is still so adorable and it makes me want to take a trip to Disneyland! Don't worry about the boring pregnant life, it will get better and hopefully you will start feeling better soon; being sick is the worst.
