Eat Your Heart Out Marie

I started this post a few days after Thanksgiving but never quite finished because of a crazy little thing called labor that started to kick in.

******************************

We stayed put this year for obvious reasons and had our first ever mini-family Thanksgiving at home. Tom went ALL OUT and cooked every bit of the food...his first ever turkey (very juicy by the way), all the side dishes, and 5 pies. That's right, 5 pies! I think he would have given Miss Marie Callender herself a run for her money. I told Tom that I honestly would have been perfectly content with just a turkey sandwich. I really would have, but what can I say, the boy likes to cook!

Sitting on your booty watching your husband slave away is exhausting. I really am not that lazy, but at a almost full 9 months pregnant Tom insisted that I not help. It was great!

Marie...I mean Tom taking the pies out of the oven.

He even took requests and made my favorite...key lime pie with fresh key limes.

Every bit of the food and dessert was excellent as evidenced by Reesey's face. She kept exclaiming, "Licious!" throughout the meal.

We certainly hope to be around more family next year, but we still had a great time even with just the 3.98 of us.

WOW! How lucky are you to have Marie living with you! Maybe next year you should come to Vegas and invite us so we can taste some of that!! Oh and don't underestimate the importance of the attentive audience!! :)

Wow! I am very impressed, Tom! I've never even attempted to make a turkey on my own. Everything looks fabulous and "licious." Good job!

3.98 - HA! You are spoiled rotten. But I love you anyway. :) Your dinner looks very licious indeed.

What? Reese ate the food? I'm jealous. Austin won't eat anything new - not even "licious" Thanksgiving dinner. Ok, he did eat pie. I was definitely thinking of you guys that day. Glad it was a good one.

I love that Tom is such a master chef--so hilarious! Isn't it hard to imagine life with just the 3.98 of you when you look at pics with just Reese?

Wowi what a great spread. Mark made me a quesidilla (sp?) for the first time the other night. What a lucky lady you are. It looks licious!!!

Tom is cool because: 1- He likes to cook. 2- He insists you don't help. 3- He made 5 PIES! 4- He poses for your cheesy shots and still has a smile on his face. I don't think I could pay Cory to do any one of those things. Glad you noticed that guy at the library and waited to walk home with him.

I love the curtains on your back sliding door. Did you make them?

As far as Tom's cooking...I am impressed but not very suprised. This post got Steve thinking about the good old days when he and Tom would play a game they called "Cooking with Steve and Tom."

Go Tom! I didn't know he was such a good chef. Did he let the dishes soak after he made dinner?

I'm so jealous. My husband can make diddley-squat! If I were you I'd make the hubby cooking Thanksgiving a tradition!

That's quite a man you have there! :) Mmmm...Key lime is my favorite too!

And I am glad I'm not the only one that watches sitemeter! It is very curious to see all the visitors and wonder who (or what!?) they are!

I think this needs to be a tradition...Tom cooking the Thanksgiving dinner, that is. If you're here with us, he can cook, too! What a man. Great job on the Christmas posts. I'd definitely say fondue is a tradition. Is there anyone who questions it? I think it's a great one, especially now that the sternos are no more. Ha, ha.
