where the couches are made of chocolate and little pink bunnies tuck you into bed at night.

That's Tom's little phrase he teases me with when I talk about my days in Sparks II apartments. I am so in love with my BYU college experience! Sparks II apartments are probably the most ghetto of all the BYU housing, but I loved my time there with all my heart! Sparks is where I had some pretty intense dating experiences and also some CRAZY roommate experiences, but most importantly it's where I made some of my sweetest and dearest friends ever...Dadra, Heidi, & Marisa. Collette is also in these pictures, but unfortunately we've all kind of lost touch with her.
We got together for a roommate reunion at Marisa's beautiful house in Ohio last Tuesday through Friday. We all brought our little people along which made for some fun times. Each one of us had a baby in 2006--for 3 of us it was our first. Heidi & I flew out together and Dadra drove. When Dadra got there she accidentally locked her keys in the car along with her little girl Abby (just thought I'd explain the police car picture). We mostly just hung out at Marisa's house (there always seemed to be a little one napping) and talked for hours on end. It felt just like our college days only our conversation topics have changed quite a bit! :) The best talking times of course were when all the kids were in bed. Back in college Marisa and I had a huge problem with staying up until insane hours in the morning talking. Things haven't changed much. We stayed up every night super late and one night didn't get to bed until 4:30. Although it would cause extreme pain the next day when I had to get up with Reese, it was so worth it! We all had so much fun together and Marisa was so sweet to host the zoo at her house.
Friday morning, Dadra, Heidi, & I packed into Dadra's car with all our luggage and little people and then headed out to Maryland. Dadra was so sweet to let us all tag along and let me stay with her for a night. The drive out there was GORGEOUS with all the leaves changing colors and the kids did surprisingly well. They only slept for about 30 minutes each the whole 7 hour drive, but there was probably only about 10 minutes total of melt down time.
Our Sparks reunion definitely deserves a post of its own so I'll post about our Maryland adventures later.

I love, love, loved your post! I think the picture of Mr. & mrs. Fitzgerald will look so darling in their wedding video someday...of course THEIR wedding to each other. I just love you guys so much! I am soooo glad you all came out. I had so much fun and have been so bored this week here all by my lonesome. I think I'll fly ya'll out everytime Bret's out of town. We definitely need to do this often!
That's so cute Rachel, it sounds like y'all had a blast. And it's fun that you can share the mommy experience with each other. So, do you think all of your kids will live in Sparks II together, and rekindle the memories? :-)
Dude, my Rachel withdrawls have been intense this week. I'm glad you're back and glad that you had an awesome time. I totally hear you - I would do college over again in a heartbeat. I loved it. High school . . . not so much. Why weren't we ever roommates at BYU? That was dumb of us. Sometimes I drag Jacey and Londyn down to provo and wax nostalgic, walking around campus. Me likey BYU.
Marisa, we definitely have to do this often! I say baby free next time in Denver! :)
And other Marissa, see you should have stuck around Sparks a little longer for some more good times. We definitely had some really fun times the summer of the "Hansen Boys" poster pranks though. Yep, I definitely think we will force our children to all live in Sparks together...that is if they haven't torched the place down by then. :)
Cynthia, it's so good to know I was missed. I may get teased by how much I blog, but my fans are faithful! :) I agree that high school was blah. And I have no idea why we were never roommates. With the way you and I talk you definitely would have been right there with us talking into the wee hours of the night.
Emily, sorry I meant to reply back to you on my last blog entry but I was gone. For sure next time I'm in town we should get together! I think it's been years since I've seen you. I told my mom about you having the kitchen from her store and she was excited about that. You really should go see her store...it's adorable! And yes punky Mikey is single.
Ashley, same thing, we need to get together next time we're both in Vegas!
I looked up Bob's personal life, because I was also unsure regarding his dating preferences. He says he has a girlfriend in Australia. I took that to mean he preferred women. Funny that we both doubted...
That is so neat that you all stay in touch and get together. It looks like you guys had a blast. I love the picture of you all in the car. You look so comfortable. :)
It was so so fun to be with all the roommates again. It was definitely fun to see all the kiddos, but I agree that next time would be fun sans babies. Denver 2009?!?!?! I'm already counting down the days...
I love how Dadra's little girl looks so much like her! So cute!
Cute pictures Rachel. That's fun that you all got together again. Locking the kid in the car sounds more like something I would do than Dadra. I can't believe how much Marissa's kids look like her. You all have adorable "little people".
i love getting together with people that the minute you see them, regardless of how much time you spend apart, it's like no time has gone by. looks like a fabulous reunion!
Boy I'm behind on the roommate reunion post! I'm going to have to kife a few of yours and Marisa's pics since I only have 2 good ones of my own. I too am counting down to Denver 2009!
