The last day of Reese's little infant life was a big one for her. She did two things--one good, one not so good. The not so good has been a huge fear of mine ever since we moved into this house. Anybody who's been to our house knows that we pretty much have the steepest stairs in the entire world. This afternoon Reese fell from the very top pretty much all the way down until I caught her at about the 4th step from the bottom. She really truly looked like a little rag doll falling down with her little body flipping over and over. It was horrible! She bawled for about 5 minutes then was fine. The only evidence is a small rug burn on her forehead. Thank goodness for kids being so resilient! As Tom always says, "When was the last time you met a 20 year old quadriplegic who told you that he fell down the stairs when he was 1?" (Sorry to offend anybody if they know someone.)
Now on with the fun one. Reese took her first steps today! It was the craziest thing. A few days ago she stood up for about 10 seconds. Then all today in one afternoon, she stood up for 10 seconds, then 20, then 30, then 1 step, then 2 steps, then 6 steps! Then after that, she was tired and mad at us and went back to crawling. It's amazing how fast they learn things. It's just so fun to watch all their developments right before your very eyes. I still think she'll be a little while before she's walking well, but that's a step (ha ha, I crack myself up).

Welp, tomorrow's the big day! I'll be sure to post pictures of her little par-tay later!

Woo hoo!! Go Reese!! Um, on the walking that is. Not the falling. Blake did the same thing tonight (Marie's boy). Glad you're okay. Have a happy bday tomorrow!
I cannot believe it has been a year already. What a big girl for taking her first step right before she turns one! Happy Birthday Eve Reese!!
Can you believe how fast a year goes by. She will be up and walking in no time. I was reading your comments from one of your post and read how to change the background. Do you know how long I have been trying to change mine? So thanks for the tips. Are you guys coming for Christmas? Hope you guys have a great Birthday tomorrow!
Oh man--I can imagine how freaked out you were watching her fall down the stairs. I'm imagining that she got over it a lot quicker than you did :-). WALKING!!! That is so exciting. Good job, Reese--before you know it she'll be running all over the place. HAPPY, HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY, Reese.
Happy Birthday, Reese!! I plan to call, so hopefully I catch you guys sometime between conference, partying, and everything that you have today.
Happy birthday to Reese. I hope that she has a wonderful party.
She's so expressive! Happy Birthday to Reese!
Happy Birthday, Reese! Great job on the walking. That's truly amazing that she took six steps on the same day she did her first.
I can't wait to see her!
I can't believe I missed the big day! You were so cute to send Austin a b-day card. I've seriously been thinking about it all week and then... phooey. Well happy belated birthday Reese!! And I'm going to make Austin send you a b-day card right now!
