Speaking of all this baby food:
I know they say to start feeding her what I'm eating here pretty soon, but I'm not too sure she'll love Honey Bunches of Oats and Lean Cuisines. :) My pediatrician recommended a book called "Super Baby Foods" that I'm going to look in to. Not that I'm necessarily all about feeding her organic foods all the time, but I don't really want her eating chicken nuggets all day either. So if any of you experienced moms have suggestions of what good baby food (or toddler food really) for this transition time let me know.

I love it!! HA HA! Um...so for BELLA we really like the Gerber Third Foods...and the snacks...like the cheese puffs!! HUGE HIT! She hasn't really taken to the Gerber Graduate foods...we usually will just feed her our own food...like spaghetti...macaroni and cheese...rice...peanut butter and jelly sandwiches...etc. instead of those. But...when she is teething I still use the baby food jars...or if we are traveling...I always bring some jars just in case she gets hungry and we need some food. But...pretty much she is starting to eat solid foods with us. Meats are hard still...but she is getting FOUR new teeth right now...so soon she will be eating those too!!
Thanks Stacie! Yeah I'm getting nervous for having to feed her regular food. It's been so nice to have these premade jars to feed her.
Hey! I totally laughed at your cupboard full of food. You now have food storage for your babies. I love it! As far as feeding the babies...I remember being so overwhelmed when Kel started eating more than baby food. I started by having her always have a fruit or vegetable with every meal. I'll open either canned fruit or cook up some fresh or frozen veggies. Then we just cut them into little pieces. I'll do a bunch at one time and then refrigerate it or use it all for a couple of days. I'll also give her fresh fruit that's cut up--for harder fruits like apples I'll heat them up until softer. My pediatrician gave some good counsel. He said to look at a "balanced" diet of the whole pyramid over a couple of days at least for toddlers. So I don't freak out if one days she eats a tons of dairy...another veggies...another grains, etc. I also have a baby food smasher (I'm not sure the technical term) that you can get at Target where you can grind up (manually--it's really easy) what you're eating (ie: spaghetti, rice, etc.). I'm pretty anal about the kiddies not eating anything that could be allergenic and so I just check the labels of everything we're making to be sure it has stuff they can eat--especially avoiding peanuts and dairy, etc. And I still do the baby oatmeal and rice cereal for breakfast for a long time (to get that extra kick of iron) and mix it with different fruit for variety. After Kelsey started to be able to chew everything, instead of chicken nuggets and such, I'll George Forman a chicken tenderloin for her and she loves dipping it in ketchup (what is it with kids and condiments...it's a must). And then I'll give her a fruit or veggie (or both) with that. After turning one she LOVED string cheese and eggs. Okay, this is going on forever. We end up doing leftovers from dinner for lunch on most days. That works well. I promise I'll end now. Good luck!
i'm so jealous of your stash!
email me if you still need ideas for food. looks like you got a lot of good ones. i had trouble finding things that tyson would eat so we have tried EVERYTHING!!
Rachel, you are a cute mommy!
I wish I knew about things like this when Ben ate baby food. Wow you're good! Yes, the baby food will fly off your shelf. It may last you a while, but trust me, you will be shocked how quickly it disappears. You are one smart cookie!
