So This Is Christmas...

Christmas Eve day was admittedly a little nuts. The kids were super on one and my nerves were pretty shot with all the fighting/whining. But after one last brawl over nativity roles, I'd say everyone pulled their Christmas Spirit together just in the nick of time!

Leah=bare-midriffed angel or sheep;  Reese=Mary;   Claire=angel, who really brought it with her solo of "Angels We Have Heard On High";  & Everett=Joseph, who was insistent about carrying his Buzz Lightyear gun to "protect Baby Jesus from all the bad guys." The frequent gun shots paired lovely with his intermittent bursts of singing "Peace On Earth!"

Christmas morning--oh was Christmas morning fun! The excitement bursting from these Littles of mine is always quite contagious.

They were all thrilled with their loot. Reese was even able to complete her Puppy Surprise collection. (A far cry from last year's gutted "Nursing Nana Dog" with her puppies shoved inside as a result of Reese requesting a "Mommy Zipper Dog" for 3 straight years. Silly, desperate Santa!)

Luckily, Santa knew Tom's brother, Jeff, was in town as well and left some beef jerky and a gas gift card for his drive out to Connecticut.

The kids were perfectly spoiled and played beautifully on their own for the rest of the day.

Even the big kids got in on some of the fun.

We always do fondue at some point during the holiday season, but can't ever seem to remember when. We did it for Christmas dinner this time and I've decided that that was just perfect. Things have died down by then and it's such a fun ending to the day.

It was a perfectly relaxing and beautiful Christmas.
Merry day-after Christmas everyone!!

I was curious as to why there were 7 stockings; good thing you mentioned Tom's brother. It seems like Christmas was magical for the kids, and even you for portions of it. :) I love the Buzz Lightyear gun for protection. How sweet. We do fondue Christmas Eve. It's the one meal my husband looks forward all year to.
