It's official. We're a family of 7! :)
Meet Bridget...
She's a 1 1/2 year old Golden Retriever from the mean streets of Vegas. Her previous owners adored her and almost gave her a second life of luxury and relaxation in Hawaii, but soon realized that a life in Denver with 4 energetic kids might be more her speed.Adoption day was yesterday and my kids were dying with anticipation. They must have asked every 20 minutes "how long until they get here?!"
Really, for me, this situation could not be more ideal. We wanted a Golden Retriever, but we got to skip passed all the potty and night training. We already knew and loved her, and the fact that she was free didn't hurt either. Even Claire, who claims to be a "cat person" (to be the opposite of Reese) is pretty in love as well.
I told Tom today that Bridget might be the answer to the "brother" that Everett needs. We're all taking bets on which one's going to wear the other out first. I think we're all actually pretty sure how those results will turn out.
I had a good laugh this morning when Everett came down the stairs squeezing his way onto Bridget's bed and said angrily, "Make some room, Bridget! I'm tired too!"

Great post Rachel! I love the pic where Everett is putting Bridgett in a head lock! So happy for you guys and Bridgett - she seems to fit right in!
I seriously choked up reading Reeses comment about dreams coming true. I'm so happy you got a dog just so Reese can believe in that! The world needs more such belief. And I'm super happy for you that the potty training phase is over. I was scared for you to have to take on another "baby" already, but it sounds like you got the perfect setup. Plus Bridget Bjorkman has a nice ring to it... for a brother.
ha ha!! This is too cute! The girls are just dying for a dog. Dy-ing! I am the holdout, but seeing this... I don't know!! :)
Love everything about this. Bridget seems like a real dream and I can't wait to meet her!
I love your blogs. Keep posting!
