Christmas Day

was pretty darn awesome. We debated about travelling, but in the end decided to just stay put. And although we definitely missed family, it was really great to just chill and do our own thing. We think we are on to something for future years.

We were expecting the girls to wake up insanely early, but they didn't come out of their room until about 7:30. And since we had church at 9, the plan was just to head down and see what Santa brought and wait for the rest of the gifts until later.
Santa left some pretty fun things (Reese's request-Barbie veterinarian, Claire's-a piggy bank with a skirt)....
along with reindeer milk for everyone.
The girls were thrilled with the surprise car Santa left and luckily weren't the slightest bit phased by the crappy job the elves did while constructing it in their shop. (The gear shift is backwards so it has 2 reverse gears and only 1 slow forward gear. We tried messing with the wiring, but it won't change. And there aren't any left at the North Pole to exchange with.)
Reese exclaiming that she was going to jump out once she discovered what a crazy driver Claire is.
Did you know that even Santa follows Pinterest? Everett was quite happy with his own personal "ball pit".
After Church

Sadly, Tom's 3-year run of wearing the fantasy football green jacket to church for Christmas has come to end. Wait, did I say "sadly"? We're in a new ward this year so it was pretty funny (slash uncomfortable for me) to see people's reactions. If you don't know Tom, he comes across as very serious so people didn't quite get that there was any humor behind it.

Sweet little Everett sat so patiently as his sisters openened and played with his present.

This is the cutest dollhouse I have ever seen! I found one on craigslist last year that I wanted to get, but I wasn't quick enough. So this year Momoo & Dadoo gave it as a combined present for all 3 kiddos. Sorry Everett. Tom thinks he's going to find me up playing with the dollhouse in the middle of the night. That really might happen. One of Tom's Christmas presents to me was keeping meals simple and the kitchen clean. We enjoyed yummy crepes for brunch and a creamy parmesan tomato soup for dinner. The girls played sweetly all day, sick little Everett slept lots, and we skyped with several family members. It was a perfectly relaxing and wonderful Christmas!

The End.

P.S. I forgot to mention that the "Coke" family pj's came from my family. If you didn't know me unmarried my maiden name is Koch, pronounced "Coke". I'm sure your lives are now more complete knowing this exciting information.

I love those perfect days when the kids are so happy with their gifts and there is no fighting... awe, so nice. BTW, I love seeing your pictures and noticing that we must shop at the same places. Katie has that exact dress Claire has. It is her FAVORITE!!! I'm glad you had a good Christmas. Oh, and I have to ask, did someone put ketchup on their crepes? That's an interesting combo if you ask me, but to each his own. ;)

I love the white car...it's so shiny. We decided to stay here this year as well, missed extended families a little...but really enjoyed the nice relaxing day at home.

That doll house is awesome and enormous! It's funny picturing you playing with it in the middle of the night! Haha Tom. You're not as serious as Henderson ward thinks. :)

Sounds like a great one. Can I come over for crepes next year?

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas. I would never be able to get away with not going to visit family.

Wait.....is that KETCHUP with crepes? Ugh.! BTW, I'm starting to think Everett's looking a bit like you. That car is awesome! I'm sad it was a crappy car. Sometimes the best looking ones really suck (i.e. some Hyundai's).
