He Works Hard For the Money

11:15 PM Tuesday night.

Hey Tom, I didn't know you were still working for PwC!

Tom has been putting in some pretty late hours at work for 3 weeks now. And it's brought back some not so lovely memories of the good 'ol days. The days where walking in the door at 11:15 at night was not uncommon. Don't get me wrong, we're very grateful for his job, but we're also grateful that this is completely abnormal nowadays. Hallelujah. Tom and his co-workers have been putting in a new accounting software system and it's turned out to be a tad bit more work than expected. I can tell he's super exhausted and would rather just be home with us, but not once has he complained. Thanks for working hard for us Tom/Daddy!

Curtis the DH is acting as scribe. Marissa can only use one hand.

He mentioned that new accounting software implementations are always "more work than anyone anticipated". We can totally empathize with the late hours. Yea that tax/busy season eventually ends!!

Yes thank goodness that it is the exception now days and not the rule! Will works overtime every week, but I would rather have that than have a busy season. Kudos to Tom! And his patient and understanding wife. :) :)

You raise a good point. Last week Anthony was working his butt off (6am to midnight everyday) trying to get a new version of the software ready. And who complained? Me. Not him at all. Just me. Whining about having to do all the kid and household duty. I don't know if that indicates how much Anthony loves his job, or just how much of a whiner I am. Either way, I didn't even think about his lack of complaining until I read your blog post just now. I'll have to go kiss my hubby.
