Reese is 2!!!

So Monday was the big day! Of course she had absolutely no idea what her birthday meant, but I'm pretty sure she enjoyed the extra spoiling nonetheless.

She started off her day being treated to a little breakfast in mommy and daddy's bed. That of course was followed up with a nice super-frostingy cupcake. (My rule for birthdays is that you can eat pure sugar all day long if you so desire. I'm trying not to act like every day is my own birthday.)

Then later that night she had some of her closest little buddies over to help her party-hardy. Excited about her cake

"Oh wait, where'd all these people come from?" This was her reaction as soon as she realized everybody was staring at her. People are often surprised to find out what a shy little gal she can be.

Her friends were so super sweet and gave her lots of fun toys to play with!

For the past few days she's been trying to carry every single one of them around the house all at the same time and has been getting quite frustrated if she drops anything.

The kitchen was an absolute hit. Reese even grabbed my hand Tuesday morning and led me over to it only to point and say, "No touch!" So apparently it's even hands off for mommy. (She must have been a little traumatized by having to share with all her friends the night before. Such a fun concept to teach at this age. :( )

She's also been insistent that her new puppy go in the oven. Thanks Reese for giving us even more of a reason not to get a real one.

Tom was also thrilled with the party because he got to bust out and dust off the old ping pong table...and have people who wanted to play with him. Pretty much I'm the meanest wife ever who very rarely plays.

And to make matters worse I'm making him sell it on craigslist so we can completely convert the loft into a play room for the girls. "for the girls"...I love how that sounds. :)

The party didn't stop after everybody left though. Reese decided she wanted to go in for another round or two of cupcakes. Well, at least eat another round or two of frosting off the cupcakes. That's my girl!

Thanks to everybody for your thoughtful birthday calls, comments, cards, and gifts. We had a great time spoiling the heck out of her!

A kid's birthday. I can't even imagine how much fun that must be to plan and carry out. She looked so overwhelmed and excited. Totally cute.

That cake and stand is AWESOME... where did you get that? I really do want to know! What a fun birthday party! It makes me sad that we couldn't be there. I can't believe it's been TWO YEARS since we've had our babies. You look GREAT by the way!

The cupcake thing was so cute! I am also really impressed that she got to eat in your bed. I don't think I'm brave enough to let my kids do that.

You do birthdays right! Reese looked like she loved every second of it!

She is SO cute. I cannot believe she still lets you do her hair, Katie has fought that since she was 1-1/2! And, you look great! It will be fun when you can have the loft ready for the girls to play in, even if Tom has to give up his ping pong table.
