Feelin' Great at 28!

"Say Cheese!"

So far so good. Despite noticing some definite differences as of late (age spots, wrinkles and my ever growing bulbous nose--you've heard your nose never stops growing), turning 28 has actually been quite good! Thank you so much everybody for your phone calls, cards, gifts, and birthday comments! I really did feel spoiled...and I loved every minute. I think most people do love their birthday and are lying when they act like "Oh I'm so embarrassed. There's a day that I was born on." I mean come on, I LOVE having that one special day a year when everybody lets you know how much they love you and then pays extra special attention to you. I don't get why you wouldn't........Tom! ;) (He's not much for individualized attention.) One thing's for sure in the super sweet list Tom generated--friendships and family are so important to me and I truly do feel so lucky to have so many amazing people in my life. So thank you all for making me feel so loved.

My favorite birthday message. It's from Ginger and her kids and I've affectionately entitled it, "Poo-poo in the potty."

After going through all my birthday pictures I realized another reason why maybe I love birthdays so much. They're filled with my favorite thing...eating, eating some more, and then eating even more. After breakfast in bed, dinner out, and 3 birthday lunches I've officially reached that full point where you swear that you're never going to eat again.

For breakfast Tom served me homemade pineapple crepes. He knows I'm not one for traditional breakfast foods so I thought that was very thoughtful of him. Not to mention that they were super yummy!

Then for lunch I met up with some of my girlfriends at Chili's. (You know you're old when you start calling your friends your "girlfriends.") Look at all those kids! And some of them were at school. Yah, I'm pretty sure our waitress hated us after all the spills and lovely messes we made. Amy, Me, Shauna, Hollie, Kassiah.

Dinner out at Bombay Clay Oven! If I ever get to choose, this place is it for me!

I know this picture is gross, but I just had to show me enjoying my favorite food ever. Mmmm...lamb tikka masala!

After dinner I enjoyed my free birthday ice cream at Coldstone and then we headed over to see the movie 27 Dresses. I had seen it before and loved it so much that I dragged Tom along for my second time. Don't let Tom fool you. He loves a good chick flick every now and then.

Olive Garden lunch with Marissa, Julie, & Tamra. Julie's birthday was Monday, mine was Tuesday, and Tamra's was Wednesday (3rd, 4th, 5th).

We had the craziest and best waiter I've ever had! He did magic tricks for the kids and would toss his tray and other things behind his back. He was really entertaining and just plain funny.

My "I'm going to eat you" face. I was actually laughing at the waiter and his crazy singing to us. Is that what I really look like when I laugh?! Goo! Even Reese is like, "Can someone please get me away from Crazy?!"

We were there for 2 hours and had so much fun celebrating all 3 of our birthdays.

Yeah for birthdays. Now back to normal life...just a little older!

P.S. Hollie made me that yellow cake at the top then made me pose for some pictures. I felt like a little kid, but it was still fun.

Glad you had a good day! I think the reason most people don't like birthdays is cuz A) it reminds them that they're another year older and if they're not close to where they want to be in life, well...another year older and not close to where they want to be! And B) they DO want to feel like they're special and loved on that day and it ends ups falling flat. ie, it's just another day...no one really remembers.

I would prefer to completely forget about birthdays, cuz they do end up just being another normal day. if i hope for more, then i just get let down. if i don't expect/want anything, i'm never disappointed! plus, lately, i seriously keep forgetting my b-day and even my age. someone told me how old i'm turning and i had to think a second cuz i really had forgotten. bring on the old age!!!
