Blaise & Dave's Wedding

This was the weekend my friend Blaise and her now husband Dave got married. He is a dentist that works in the same building that Blaise and I used to be ortho assistants in. They dated for a LONG time without letting anybody know. Scandalous! I have just recently gotten over the shock that she was dating (and is now married to) "Dr. Singer" from upstairs. They are such a cute couple and I am so happy for them!

Their wedding was like a fairytale. Soooo elegant! I kept telling everybody that I felt like I was in the movies. This was the first non-mormon wedding I had ever been to. And I was in it! Nerve-racking! I'm just glad I didn't fall while I was walking down the aisle. It was also kind of fun to get all dressed up and have a change from mommy mode.

This was really the only shot Tom was able to get of the actual wedding from where he was sitting.

Sometimes pictures just don't do things justice. I honestly don't think these pictures show just how beautiful the wedding setting was. The whole thing was in her parents backyard. It's a ranch with a ton of land down in Sedalia (about an hour south of us).

Dave's family is Jewish so there were quite a few Jewish customs throughout the wedding including Dave breaking the glass with his foot and everybody yelling "Mazel Tov."
We even got to dance the "hora." It reminded us of the end of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." Tom was pretty resistant at first when I tried to get him to go to the dance floor to do it all, but when I convinced him that we were probably never going to have a chance to do this again, he finally gave in. We had a great time. Although I obviously appreciate the meaning and symbolism of my own wedding (an LDS wedding), this was such a fun and beautiful wedding to be a part of as well.

Rachel - you look so pretty!! I love that you were the only one with a shrug on your dress! You looked fantastic!

Rach--you looked so awesome! You looked like you were straight from the movies! I also loved that you were the only one not baring shoulders. You and Tom should definitely frame that picture of you two--looking so glamorous. Okay, so I'm sounding like I'm obsessed again...so I'll just stop :-). How did you know the bride?

Yeah, but what did they serve for food? I bet it was good.

You look so beautiful! I got to be in a friend from high school's wedding a couple years ago, and I had that exact shrug thing to go with my dress, too! Except short sleeved and lilac purple. I feel really lucky to be a grown-up in this time of stylish shrugs and capris. What a fun day of fashion and glamour!

Fun! You look like you were going to a ball. I know this is beginning to sound repetitive, but you looked beautiful!

The food comment was just to be silly (I hope you know). I also must add that you look so fabulous. What a fun opportunity to get all dressed up.

Rachel said: Oh, and I know you were being silly about the food comment, but holy cow, it was amazing. The rehearsal dinner the night before was a super ritzy restaurant with a 5 course dinner. It was like a 3-4 hour long dinner. Then at the wedding they walked around before hand with all these appetizers like "salmon blah blah." (I don't know why I put that in quotations since I don't even remember the name.) Then there was a real nice dinner served too. Anyway, way fun and nice. Oh, and then there was a farewell brunch the next morning that we didn't make it to.

Heidi: Wow. I knew it. That makes me drool (except for the part about "salmon blah blah" because I don't like seafood).
