Happy Mommy's Day!

This is my mom, Sherie. It's funny that while growing up I didn't think too much about all that she did for me...she was my mom and that's what moms did. It wasn't until I got older that I realized how lucky I was and that not all moms were like her. She has made so many sacrifices for me and my other six siblings. Having that many kids, period, is a sacrifice because your whole life becomes your children. She is such a good example to me of what it is to be generous and loving. Some of my favorite memories of her demonstrate those traits--like the time there was a woman in front of her in line at Target who didn't have enough money to pay for her things, so my mom followed her home and anonymously left a whole Christmas outside their door. Tom likes to call me "Little Sherie" because I have inherited a little bit of her craziness as far as our love for starting projects in the middle of the night (nothing like waking up at 2 in the morning to the smell of pumpkin rolls baking as she prepared for her craft shows) and also our crazy emotions (I don't think that's necessarily bad because I think it can make us feel things on a deeper level). When I was a little girl I would run around the house singing this song, "Mommy, oh mommy, I love you. I know our love will not end. I want to grow up just like you. You are my sister as well as my friend." I love that she is my mommy and that we have grown to be such good friends.
This is my mom-in-law, Marilyn. She is so incredibly selfless and loving. I am so lucky to have married somebody who was raised by a woman like her. It is apparent in the way she lives her life that the gospel is number one for her, and I am lucky that she passed that down to her son. She also passed down her great cooking skills. There is always a meal on the table when you're in her home. She is constantly on the go taking care of others (she is currently taking care of Tom's grandma). It's fun to watch her around 9:00 at night because no matter what she's in the middle of, her eyes start to close from exhaustion from her day. She is also extremely intelligent and a great conversationalist as well as a good listener. I am blessed to have another great example in my life of what it is to be a wonderful mom.
My baby girl and me. I love her to death!

This is from Tom and Reese. I don't know how, but we started an odd tradition a while ago where Tom gets me some form of beef jerky for birthdays and now apparently for mother's day.

I look like Mom??? I always thought I looked like dad, but I guess it depends on the facial expressions. Very cute picture of you and Reesie. She is so cute I could just eat those cheeks and that little ET neck! Hahah! I think it makes her look much older than she really is.
You are a very lucky mom to have such an adorable baby. I'm lucky too, since all of my children are so gorgeous. I think I'm going to get them all agents. They need to be in movies. HA!
